Title: Kirby
Post by: JandS on March 31, 2009, 10:34:33 am
Anybody else had a phone call from a stranger promoting the "new" Kirby vac.
Says it's the best cleaner he's ever seen.
Waffles on about an NHS contract he's got and kept asking me questions about carpet cleaning in between telling me how marvellous it is.
Are you trying to sell me one       yes       how much        think he said £2400.
What does it clean with         shampoo       how big's the waste tank            1L    Bye Bye

When I left school I went for a job with Kirby not knowing anything about them. The induction was a week where you got to learn all about the vacuum cleaners. Believe you and me they are the donkeys!! However I hate their selling practises and I didn' last long there. Do yourself a favour and buy yourself a G7 or better on Ebay and save yourself a couple of grand. Once you have one they should last a lifetime with regular servicing.

They are good vac cleaners - no doubt about it. Pity you cannot have a hose permanantly attached, that would make them great.

Buy one 2nd hand - just make sure it has the power drive pedal - makes the pushing an dpulling much easier.

Bit like a glide on a wand (que Derek - glides are for girls)
