Title: On the news there talking about water meters again.
Post by: NWH on March 30, 2009, 06:07:41 pm
It makes me sick to the back teeth they must be sitting in westminster thinking up ways of making more money out of us to cover the debts they`ve caused putting us into a recession, there saying they want everyone to be metered in the near future so i think i`ll look into renting a commercial unit that`s not on a meter.

I don't know what the cost of water is in the UK but I bet it would be cheaper than here. Everyone has a meter and the price isn't uniform but the normal price is between 3 and 4 quid per 1000 ltrs. If I'm not wrong that's a full IBC? Would that be expensive?
I want to go WFP this year and I don't know enough yet about costs of water after waste etc.

Complicated here ladder, water costs a certain amount coming IN and another going OUT (if you see what I mean) If it's commercial use then it's cheaper!
Look, you know they say Gurmans are efficient? Well they are also fiddling robbing gits too. Wish I'd not posted now ???

We get enough water from rainfall in this country - especially the west- to irrigate Africa I reckon - all it needs is a national grid of mega pipes to distribute it sensibly.

Apparently if we did it would cause problems for the flora and fauna, crazy as it sounds, all plants etc. are used to local water conditions and would suffer, if given water from miles away, I kid you not, I heard it on Radio 4 so it must be true

I think if they spent less money giving shareholders bonuses, and more stopping pipes leaking it would be better  :)

Is it true that a 4040 has a better waste/product ratio? That might be the way forward if true

That's the one good thing to come of this recession. They can't afford to build any more properties down in the south. Common sense tells me that if we can't provide water for the masses that already live here, then something has to give..................something like...............er no more people. Just a thought  ::)

I think until they lower their leakage rate (something like 15-20%) then they will have a hard time justifying meters

In the meantime, just be grateful that they don't supply your gas.

Water is not as expensive as you think NWH, renting a unit would cost more than the water in the first place.
