Title: what goose neck brush head?

I really dont have a clue what all these different types of brushes are for,

what type and size of goose neck would you suggest, would an agle adapter be fine?

also glass fiber, hybrid and carbon?

is one lighter, or stronger that the other, what do you suggest?

we use the ones in the middle, with plastic goosenecks for most work, the one to the right is a sill brush this being the heavier out of the ones shown, my gut uses his sill brush on everything as he likes it.

They are all mono-filament versions of the Vikan brush range.

The LH one is an oval and slightly pointless, middel one is a rectangualr and apart from being heavy is a fine everyday brush, the RH one is a sill brush and is great if you like cleaning sills otherwise it is very heavy.

A plastic neck will fit all of them. We do an aluminium range that also fit these, Type 1 for the LH one and the type2 for the others. My advice would be start with a plastic neck and see how you get on.

Glass fibre poles, cheap and flexible, Hybrid slightly stiffer and slightly lighter but more pricey, Carbon stiffer again, but no lighter than the Hybrid even pricier.

They will all wear out in about the same time (carbon slightly longer) as they are all composite poles.

Carbon will be lightest and strongest of all.

when people say there poles wear out, what do they mean, do they break or leak? or do they just mean the joints get stiffer?

alex can you give me the closed length of a 30ft glassfibre, generally speaking?

The wear is surface wear, because of trapped dirt in the sections. Keeping the pole and pole hose clean will help prevent this as will hosing the pole out regularly. The more you use a pole the faster it will wear.

Using the X-Tel range the 31ft pole is 6ft when closed, this is very good generally speaking for a closed length. Most other manufacturers are slightly longer when closed on a 30ft pole.

 Two tips I will give you here.

1: Get a Superlite brush by Gardiner pole systems. Far superior brush than the Vikans, and a fraction of the weight.

2: Save up for a proper carbonfibre pole, ie. SL-X, Facelift, Glyder, and the other one I forgot the name of. They will last longer, are lighter and more rigid to use, and you will make more money out of it because you can work harder/longer/faster.

Go the Vikan/X-tel route, and chances are that in a years time you wished you chose the above route, and saved money in the long run. Xtels wear much quicker, and Vikans will give you a nice case of RSI caused by pig on a stick.

the viking brush in the middle is a good brush but heavy to say a bently or a supalite

i just use the pole adapters to connect  brushes

As for goosenecks: (plastic angle adapters) you can put as many as you like on a pole - using 2 or more gives you a better reach, especially over sills
