Hi Richard,
I'm with Joe on this one, the cheapest most economical & the best don't go together.
Quite a few years back i "lost faith" in a lot of the protectors around and moved away from this side of the business. I had a few problems with taking ages to dry, not really taking to the fibre and limited success across trafficked areas. This was using all the methods of pre-spraying with acidic rinse to help absorb, brushing in etc.
The I had a sample of FIBRERITE and found it to be a good product. I achieved drying times of 1-2 hours (curing times can take up to 72 hours) ther is limited odour and due to the wetting agents, it takes to the fibres really well. I do work for quite a few carpet shops, spraying the carpets on site after fitting and the feedback down the years has been really positive. The lifetime has been a bonus, I have returned to carpets 3-4 years down the line and the protector is working well acorss the traffic lanes.
Best part it's about £44.00 for 5 litres of concentrate and can be diluted all the way down to 4:1 on new carpets. I think it's a question of trying a range of products and seeing what you are happy with regarding results, drying times etc.
Hope it helps!
