lift the carpet ,clean floor under lay back of carpet and the top , clensan (prochem) has worked for me in the past , then feed the cat a few pieces of star fish , it will expand in its stomach and kill it , no more cleaning up after it  ;)

Re-past post

Mike
Nasally Challenged you are trying to mask the smell it will not work the uric acid and salts that cause the odour must be removed not an option with bleach etc
Petfresh urine off is the product you require go to www.petfresh.co.uk works 100%  its safe and friendly to the enviroment

This product works once the uric acid is removed the cat will no longer smell the urine and should not re spray.

freshly ground pepper in the area will stop the cat returning ;D ;)

Cats will typically spray vertical surfaces, so the initial soiling  may not be the carpet :o Check walls, table/desk legs and sides, curtains etc. etc. etc.

Either use a black light to locate the area or do it the old fashioned way on your hands and knees and sniff out the primary areas.

Safe and happy cleaning :)
