when cleaning the windows wfp i am finding that with the windows having drying time and it being fairly windy and a very lot of dirt in the air that there is an element of dirt landing on the wet windows, hence leaving spots...
anybody else having this problem ???

I dont know I've long gone b4 they are dried. :) I been a bit concerned this week because everyday has been windy as hell. So far no complaints.
-
seriously i went to a couple of houses today and was horrified, these houses are always spotless so i feel a few complaints on the cards :-( , i had the same problem just after we had a ll the snow and the air was filthy and it was really cold so was taking the best part of a day to dry..

To be honest I really dont think that many people look at their windows when they come home from work and see the Window Cleaner Called card through the door.
Before I started we had the same window cleaner for 10 years and never once did I check the windows on a Wednesday after he had been. He came rain, snow, wind, you name it he never missed.
You will always get the fussy one, but all you can do is offer to re clean the window within a 24 hr period if you get a complaint.

Yes it does happen, it tends to happen most on glass that beads.
-
we also found this on downstairs windows on hotel near to busy rd on every clean, never any where else unless very windy
-
yes its a problem
i did some earlier in the week when it was really windy, i didnt really want to do them, but as i am behind ( hernia op ) then it was a case of hoping for the best

exactly the same goes for me. I had a window cleaner 10yrs and never checked.
what interested me in your comment was when you said card. I'm putting quite a bit of effort into this at the moment so would be interested if you'd care to elaborate.

GREAT.
thanks very much wayne, i do appreciate this as i can sometimes be a bit argumentative/boastfull on here.
Yes i have publisher 2003, and my inbox is msn premium-the best you can get-
It will take me a while to study things, i was trying to get everything on to a card, which in the end wasn't possible. In the end all i really wanted to say about my terms was that i still clean in light rain, and one other point about regularity and hols and weather, that i gave up on.
Thanks again Clive

I have noticed this also.
I think wind is worse for us than rain at least in light rain the windows still come up fine.
But on windy day it blows all the crap on there before it's dry.

I did a 1st clean on a commercial premises this week. I've been back 3 times to redo the upstairs windows. Still spotty. Am going back on monday if the wind dies down. ???
-
Are you by the coast? There have been reports on here before of salt coming in with the wind off the sea.
The first clean is always the one that customer goes round checking. Pass that hurdle and it gets a lot easier but always check the kitchen window in front of the sink. That the one the lady of the house stands in front of for hours looking out.

I have noticed it all too often. I was down on Conwy marina last week and we had a few squally showers.
I cleaned the van windscreen with the wiper blades, 2 hours later the screen was minging and the van hadn't moved.
The only saving feature is that normal rain seem to clean these windows, nature's rinse as it were.

As a customer (Cos I'm not actually a window cleaner) my window cleaner does a thorough job, but as we're living on a building site, within an hour the front widows are minging again! It's not his fault, some people may ask why bother? For one, I would be being disloyal to A bloody good window cleaner... :)
