We have two of their Exel machines and scrubba deluxe heads, I think they are brilliant.  Whole machine is very robust and user friendly, only comment is after seeing the Eclipse, I would like to see easier access to the guts of the machine.

I went down to the NEC Cleaning show and could not find anything that could better them.  As Steve Gunn says their service support is excellent.

I spoke to John from Extracta last month and asked him why he wasn't at the NEC cleaning show, his response was " Why should I spent £12000+ on a stand, waste 3 days work trying to get sales when I'm struggling to keep up with demand for our machines now"

I have yet to find anything on the market that compares with the Extracta Scrubba heads, even at the show I found nothing to compete.  Though I'm sure someone will have similar opinions about their machines.

In a nutshell.......I like them!

I used to have a 'Spirit 1' machine, they are about 4 gall capacity.  OK for cleaning upholstery but useless on carpets.  Nowhere near enough power.

I sold mine to a upholsterer last year to clean the odd office chair instead of calling me out.

Their pukka carpet machines are pretty good though !

Cannyman,

There is a critcal mass below which a machine does'nt really do the job.

The general feeling is that is twin vac/100psi plus.

You maybe better going 2nd hand on this rather than buying a new bit of kit .

Cheers,

Doug

Cannyman,

Solutions UK could provide you with an Eclipse where you pay over 3 years or so, this cost is covered by one tiny job a week :) about 30 quid!

With the Eclipse you get 250" of water lift, :o 500psi :o, great heater, 50ft of hose, hand tool, stair tool, wand and training to boot :)

Well worth consideration

Paul

Extracta machines are excellent but difficult to work on if anything goes wrong. But if you are in the north east thats not a problem because extractas after sales service is excellent.I had my exel for 4 years with not one problem only replaced waste tank filters.I agree with Paul the eclipse is also an excellent machine but it is alot more expensive you get what you pay for.The after sales service from solution is also excellent with parts delivered the very next day.I think everyone will have an eclipse when its time to change their machine ;) ;D

Cannyman, a serious point from me for a change.
If its instant money your wanting, get yourself a job in a already established company (Factory, driving, office etc)
If you genuinely have a passion for cleaning carpet and upholstery and find it to be more of a hobby than a way of making money, you will succeed, you never know 5yrs time you may be making a reasonable income from it.

How will you feel walking the streets all day in the pouring rain with a stack of leaflets, knowing that your earning nothing for all your efforts.
How will you feel when a home owner tells you to f off or laughs at you when you decide to door knock?
How long will it be before theres a nice hardly ever used carpet cleaning set up for sale on ebay, with the comment "Carpet cleanings not for me"?

Think long and hard about it before buying that Spanish holiday home with the large pool.
