On a beige carpet (contains wool), I find that when I remove a stain with ordinary carpet cleaner the area surrounding the stain shows 'wet' marks which do not disappear even when dry. furthermore the cleaned area does not return to its original colour. Instead it becomes more attractive to soiling. What can I do. Do I have to clean the whole carpet? If so what with ? Can I apply anything to resist soiling )

What is your "ordinary carpet cleaner" ?

My thoughts as yours Mark,
I wonder when he says ordinary carpet cleaner, he infact maybe using an off the shelf stain remover, which of course can alter the colour and attract soiling.
would be interesting to know from sincere carpets.
Is he a c/c or a fitter if c/c what method he is using .

Hang on guys. Don't rush him. It only took 17 days for the original poster to come back with a further response - even if it wasn't to answer Mark's question. :)
Hope his customer isn't worried that whatever this marking is may be set through old age before he has a chance to treat it .....in 2015 ;D ;D
