I was using my Alltec Advantage today when Both Vac motors suddenly stop working.
Checked Fuse all ok, checked float switchs in Tank and all was alright. Power to Fan was still working but Hour meter was not on, machine would reset itself with Hour meter coming on and Vac motors would work for 5 sec aprox and both wouldcut out again.
I would think that its the Vac motors but both are on seperate on switchs and work on their own, so for it to be the motors just does not fit.
Any advise would be most apprectiated.

It seems odd that both are dying at the same time, have you checked for the usual thing like the brushes, loose connections? Are you experiencing a burning smell? Do both motors run off one switch or are they independant of one-an-other?
-
Independant of each other on their own switches,I ahve run both on their own and it still cuts out after 5 secs.

Is the pump still working as that should also be on a separate switch?
Sound like there is a fault on the main board if the pump also stops working.
You would have known if a fuse had blown by now so it aint that.
Is it cutting out the fuse board in clients house ???

There will either be a relay, or an RFI filter, that power to the switches comes through, i bet it's that.
They may be independantly switched, but it's still the same supply.
-
your right there i would go for the relay behind the main board of the switches ???
-
pump still works chris at alltec thinks its a Relay.

sounds more electrical than the the vacs for both to go is unlikely at same time

Just taken relay apart and its brnt on the connectors
