done my first bit of door knocking this year results as follows
2 hours door knocking
nil results...
is that a sign of the times or
do you think i hit the wrong patch
will try again tommorrow night....

the more you knock the better, you may have hit roung area, but at the same time your pitch maybe wrong, try loads of different ways and find what works for you.

2 hours is the start of it. it is training your nerve; it takes some bottle to knock on a door and put yourself forward. if you keep on you'll get somewhere. best of luck to you - it is ultimately better than leafleting - the customer gets to see you face to face and can evaluate you. any crook can send a leafletting firm out in an area.

nothing wrong with pitch.. worked fine for me last year... i was just stating is it getting tougher out there as i have not cavassed at all this year....

Sometimes you hit a well worked patch. I once did a whole afternoon and got diddly-squat, it happens.

just keep knocking.
It is possible that it is the time of the month. People have not been paid for march yet, and the quarterly bills have just hit the mat.
The clocks change this weekend and people will have wages in the bank, get out on sat and sun and every eve next week when people are home in the daylight and you will find plenty of work.

It is tougher out there, i canvassed a full round in no time in the eighties, but this time around have found it more tougher, fair enough thoses who have windies allready aint gonna went ya but, the other nos i feel a lot of em would be yeses if it wasnt for ppl pulling in the purse strings in these difficult times

dont think its a sign of the times ive just moved, done some door knocking the other night for 2 hours got 100 quid. try not to hit built up areas i find country lanes can be rewardng, big houses more money give it a go.

God just knocked a house with 4 windows at back over a slanted roof, double doors on bottom with 2 single bays attatched and a odd kitchen window on the left of them, on the front had 3 top bays and 2 bottom bays with door. how much he said 12 quid i said he said other windy charged 7.50. oh right i said.

I know the feeling.
I was refused a quote for a semi yesturday; I quoted £10 and the old guy looked like I was trying to rip him off!
I hope he enjoys his dirty windows the meanie.

Yeah, but the good thing is when i said oh right, he goes ''thing is dunno when my windy comes round anymore hes not very reliable'' ''well i can assure you we are a regular windy company'' ''are you fully insured'' ''yes we are'' ''are you sure you wouldnt do it for £10 because id say yes to that'' ''well the best i can do is 12 for first clean and then 10 thereafter hows that'' ''you got a deal''
I dont feel sorry for the other windy because i OVERcutt him lol... No rule on that one!
