Title: good value trolley?
Post by: Niall McAllister on March 25, 2009, 02:59:10 pm
if everyone can miss the "we hate brodex" rants (should be a short topic ;D)
does  this trolley http://shop.brodexbms.co.uk/products/ecotrolley-plus seem good value?

Surely you would need a hose reel attatched to the trolley? Dont seem like that guy has much hose from the trolley, in my opinion you aint gonna want to keep taking a trolley around the backs!

i think it looks really good, i rang up about gettin one today, ive got an omnitrolley nearly identical, and it does the job great, great thing is im a soft water area and mine has a di on it so can just top up with normal customers tap water and go, brodex one has no di and theyve no plans to do another model, it looks easy enough to fit though.....

Does the red tank which i presume holds the water come off, cos if it doesnt youll need to somehow lift the thing in the back of the van,(50 litres of it) maybe i read it wrong?

I was thinking the same thing, probs near on 70kg in and out all day, no way i would be doing that

You'll lift it out empty and fill it (probably) with 25 litre barrells; that seems the most sensible option.

use a sub pump to fill, a small 7 or 11 L caravan sub pump would work well

Niall if you looking for a trolley give Peter a ring from slwcn, it is just sitting in his garage and wants to offload and I'm sure he will be open to offers :-

I agree.
A main tank with a sub pump is all you need to get the best out of a trolley. 1 25 litre barrel, a reel of hose as well and you have a detatchable van mount with little faffing about.

I started out with a trolley system and have gone to a van mount.

Six and two three's as to which is easiest. The trollies on the market are from what I've seen quite expensive for what they are. Mine is actually a crop sprayer which works just fine. The electrics have been modified a bit due to a defective switch, but on the whole was very happy.

The only reason I've done the van mount thing is to have the option and also the just in case factor of equipment malfuntion. I swap between van mount and trolly every now and again depending on what the job is like. Not much fun trying to reel up 100+ meters of hose.

i have 3 trolleys 1 of them being 1 of these. the wheels can be removed aswell as the long handle part but they are crap for getting in and out the van either way. I have designed 1 my self and its a great all rounder so if anyone's after 1 or intrested let iz know i'll get some pictures up 2morrow  ;)

I think that brodex trolley is excellent value for money.

I have an omnitrolley classic which is very similar and brilliant trolley.

You will need a ramp if you put it in your van/car with water in.

But just a sheet of thick ply about 4ft x 3ft does the trick.

thats really good mate, for that money too, you cold easily attach a di vessel to the back as well couldnt you, thats what i would need. where did you buy the parts, coz from what iv seen the battery boxes and pumps are well pricey on there own

it looks to me like you could weld another shelf to the back(high enough up so it can still tilt properly) and sit a decent size di vessel on there and have a bigger/taller water tank on the front. correct? ?  ?

quote ( Built to our exacting standards) :P
maybe a patent breach  :P

They were originally illegally using our photographs of our trolley on their website whilst selling their copy trolley for £795.00 whilst ours was £475.00 at that time, many of our omnitrolley customers rang us to inform us of the infringement.
To me this  new trolley price on the back of giving away  free poles just to perform a demonstration  indicates that they must be in  financial trouble (confirmed by their filed Company Accounts) and need to get customers quickly and raise some cash.

glyn

we have seen a fair few trolleys that look like yours, doesnt andrew McCann sell them aswell now

i guess they are all coming from the same Chinese supplier ? ? ? ?

Matt
I dont think we are discussing the same trolley.
The chinese trolley is a 35 litre upright which we sell for £195.00 not the same specification at all and yes Andrew was packaging our chinese trolley with an RO and a pole, many others are also selling them.

The advert for the original trolley that inspired this post says that it only has a 45 min continuous usage time.
That would be no good for us.
