welll,
i mentioned my XTEL had snapped in half , after wear and tear and numerous repairs 12-14 months old,
so i decided to use my fishing pole.... guess what... SNAPPED.! ???
so now i am using an ionic 40 footer, and a home-made pole for downstairs.
Some might say you get what you pay for, others may pay 400 pound for the same problems.... ;)
so i just dont know now.....
So does anyone know who does the cheapest 24ft pole please.
Cheers.

Sounds to me like your very heavy handed with your poles, I use xtel poles and have had one of them way over a year, I did have to replace section 2 as it was over stretched and cracked at the bottom, is this happening to you ?

The cheapest 24ft (actual length) pole on the market would be the 24ft X-Tel at about £97 +VAT.
I wouldn't want to work with it as my main pole though as it is fairly flexible. On the plus side it is quite light, same weight as the new Ionics Glyder carbon fibre pole. It makes a good occasional pole for third storey/high second storey work though.

thanks.... yes it is the middle section which split and snapped....
but they all have worn now....
i dont know if i am heavy handed or not... i dont really press on the glass , to force it to snap....
but up and down with the clamps all day has worn it out, and weaken it...it shaves a layer off it in time.... i could easily crush the middle section with my hand with not too much effort.
my ionics has lasted very well , and i bought it second hand...
but i dont use it for everyday heavy use....and its heavy
is there any way of treating an XTEL pole so it stays in tip top condition longer.?

Gazza I have a 24 ft GF pole if you want it £30 or £40 with vikan brush. Got it with a S/H trolley system I bought I've never used it. The guy I bought it off used it for 2 months. Never been adjusted and in VGC.
Wouldn't be worth posting but if you are near Bolton could collect. Also have a 15ft GF great for std work. £25.
