Title: Hiring a 60ft pole
Post by: drwindows on March 24, 2009, 11:05:16 pm: I have quoted for a one-off job that will require either a 60ft pole or a cherry picker, obviously i'd rather use a pole since thats what I use all the time and I'm not trained for cherry pickers.

The thing is, this is a one-off job that MAY become quarterly, but may not. I don't want to shell out for a 60ft pole which is quite expensive thats only going to be sitting in my garage most of the time.

Is it possible to hire 60ft poles from anywhere?

If the job becomes a regular one or i get more 60ft jobs I could maybees justify the cost of buying one, but not just for this one job.

Post by: leapstallbuildings on March 24, 2009, 11:56:35 pm: It's an odd thing but I find that when I shell out for the equipment, I seem to attract more work that is compatible with that equipment - even going back to my stint using a triple floor ladder.
If you can't hire a 60 footer, there are sometimes worn 2nd hand ones for sale at well below new price on ebay or this forum.

Next thing the guy from next door comes out and Say's "can you do mine"? I quoted £30 and he was happy with that. I looked around and realised that there is a hell of a lot of lucrative work I have missed out on these last few years. I will be round there canvassing on Saturday.

I would never reccomend buying any pole for a job you might get but havent yet got.( I bought an Ionics 60fter but sold it for less than half its value as I only ever needed 4 sections)
