Title: SLX extension question for Alex Gardiner
Post by: AuRavelling79 on March 23, 2009, 06:11:39 pm
Ok - got my SL-X delivered today - used it on some light commercial this pm and I am very impressed indeed - I also bought the glass-fibre extension.

Question is (Mr. Thicky here!) - how do I fit the extension? I have removed both end caps (from the pole and from the extension piece) so do I thread the pole hose through the extension piece? If so, because the fitted protectaball is in place it it is too large to pull through.

Am I missing something here?

Did you not get a set of instructions and a push fit connector?

I got a user guide for the main pole but nothing else except a light grey glass fibre extension with an end cap, a clamp and a rubber bush thing in the end which I presume connects to the slx.

You should have received separate instructions for the extension section and a push fit connector.  Can you email me on alex@agardiner.co.uk?

Unfortunately its more like we are a 'problem supplier'  :-[.  Malc should have received some extra kit which makes fitting the extension very straight forward.  There is no way he could have made it fit without it.  Sorry Malc.

Off topic sort of (what's new) but i thought i might mention to alex my latest idea for an invention.

The invention is a four foot extension to any pole.

and it's a pole four foot long that screws onto the angle adapter with the brush taken off and a thread for the brush to be re attached on the end of it. (I haven't actually made one this is just an idea).

So, is this idea any good or rubbish?

Oh, thanks Alex - can I take it you'll get those sent to me? Malc G Bristol BS9

The pole is superb - after my fishing pole it is quicker to use already.

I thought of that, but with the domestic plastic angle adaptor I use it would be a bit floppy - I did add a second adaptor to get into deep cills on higher floors in restricted access areas and that seemed to work.

Slumpy, i think someone already makes an extension like that but less than four feet - maybe Emporium? I've seen them somewhere.

Streamline already make this sort of thing but nowhere near as long as 4ft.

Alex - email instructions received and looking forward to receiving parts as you have outlined - thank you!

Oh, and if Tosh should ever order an SLX please remember to send the instructions to him in Welsh! ;D
