i,m just in the middle of sourcing some cheap 500ml spray bottles.
then its sticky labels and printing.
gonna give mine to clients who book, not who have a survey, all though on the survey, i will make sure they see me use it if theres a stain there. should encourage them to give me the job.

I know Paul Moss sourced some 500ml spotters but the labels were a nighmare as the cheap paper ones just blead, John kelly said it took him ages to get the right ones.

Ideally you want a bottle, sprayer, label and cleaning solution for a £1.

Tell us how you get on, Paul Ashworth would be a good person to know as he used to be in the printing game and could source a good quality label.

i'm just after the empty bottles then just mix up some one step, a lot cheaper.
sent off a few emails for prices, so see what they come back with.

I get mine from Matt at Cleansmart. I used to give them away with each job but now think its best to give them away with a decent size job and offer them as an add on sale for a lower value job. How's it going Richard in sunny Torrington

I was thinking along the same lines as Derek, just mixing up some stuff, but what would the shelf life of it be after you have added water?

I get mine from CleamSmart too.  I give one away as a free gift with every quotation.  Custys seem to like that.
Pete
PS  Alltec are selling them too now - Ecospotters - @ £1 each (as long as you buy 200!)

Why not try some from John Kelly it's only a small investment, then you can see if you want to go the whole hog and buy empty bottles and fill them and label them yourself if you can be bothered.

No I think they work out double but the Alltec ones by their own admission are like 'tatty water'.

Like most things if you ask for a discount (providing you buy enough) you may get one.

right
got the info.
there 18 p for the bottle and 24 p for the sprayers, theres 3 types of sprayers to choose from.

if you give them my name you should get them both for 40 p as i was quoted this price in an email then when i rang up they were 2 p dearer, so they let me off with the 2 p. prices are plus vat so bear this in mind. the carriage is £7.50 and you can buy as many or as little as you want. i'm getting 100 to start with, i'm also picking them up rather than carriage as there only up the road from me.

a few of you guys expressed an interest so if you email me again i will send there name, web address, email and phone number tomorrow when ive picked them up. they do a massive range of bottles, sprays, pumps, lotion dispencers, you name it. so if this is what your thinking of doing then these are the guys to deal with. my email for anyone interested is derek@affordablecleaners.co.uk
sorry for anyone who has allready emailed me but i'm getting used to this new computer (vista) (windows email) and deleted loads of emails by accident, doh!

anyway they'll send you a sample pack and then its up to you, but only serious enquiries please.

Hi derek

Look smart they do :)
How did you do the labels ???

Title: Re: Promo Spotters
Post by: derek west on April 09, 2009, 01:12:01 pm
bought sticky labels from stationers and designed and printed them myself. night need some sticky back plastic to go over the top to keep them waterproof though. all in all the bottles with labels in cluding ink and everything comes to about 56p all in. so just got to mix some M/S and put it in when i need it, hey presto, a present for my regulars with my phone number on it so they'll never forget me. still send out reminders though but in an emergency they know who to call.

Doesnt look bad derek and least its worth a go you caint loose much.

I sometimes leave some for my clients a diluted bonnet buff in a plant spray and they use it.

Was going to say some plastic coated front to stop it running.

good luck with it :)

Great Idea guys but...........

depending upon what you put in as spotting agent, check msds sheets, as if there are any issues with chemical content the label needs to display them i.e. harmful. I would be worried about comeback should someone do something silly with it!

They look brilliant Derek but one question I wanted to ask you was, and I'm sure this will be on a lot of the guys minds, and that is, why haven't you got Sky HD? ;)

Fraser
Title: Re: Promo Spotters

 ;D
cos i bought my 42inch plasma tv just before HD became known and it doesn't have hd capabilities, and my misses won't let me buy a new tv, even though theres a 50inch lcd in curries for £799 which ive got my eye on.
keep hoping the kids will throw the wii remote through the screen while there playing wii baseball so we have to get a new one, then i'll upgrade too sky HD. hows that for an excuse. ;D

Aye they can be quite slippery those wii remotes, I've been told.

Alternatively, you could start supporting Hibernian FC as every time they are on the tele, I feel like putting my foot through the bl**dy thing  >:(
