Just switched my system on to fill my IBC and last week and this week i have noticed a small rise in the TDS out from the ro.
it was the same last summer i have bad pressure problems and water flow so my tds was quite high in the summer, then over the winter it came down to around 7/8 ppm lower. Now ive noticed a rise of around 3/4 ppm.
Is this normal for when the weather warms up a little? i carnt remember if i seen someone write it goes a little higher in winter or summer.
-
tds usually goes down wnen it warms up, used to have my ro-man in van tds was about 8/9, now got it setup under my kitchen sink tds now 4.
-
lol!
I dont know then weird!
-
the more people using water at the same time the less your ro works because of pressure. mine at night is about 5ppm better and fills faster because of the better pressure. hope this helps.
-
cheers!
Could be that actully as the pressure is seriously low around here! even the fire brigade have problems with the pressure and have to ask the water company to up the pressure on big fires ::) its a joke.
I will try in the week see what happens, it may just go down again.

Hi dave,
I've noticed that in the Summer also. I have an inline tds meter and in the winter the tds is around 100 and the pressure is around 80 psi but in summer the tds is around 200 and the pressure is about 60
-
my tds is about 400 :'( pressure is about 14 psi :'( lol.
well yeah same here on the water side but i ment more on my RO water as u can see mine is very low pressure and water flow so diffrence is water etc and the RO is the same.

I think I read on the forum that if you pressure is lower than 40 then it damages the membrane. Don't quote me on this but hopefully someone can clear this up. Do you have a booster to up the water pressure?
-
no, will produce less water and higher tds value

Been through everything with June at gaps water the best i can get it at now is what me and her got it too tbh.
Yes a booster pump is used but theres a problem with the FLOW as pressure and flow are diffrent. I have to run more waste to pure so its like about 70 waste 30 pure :'( good job am not on a meter lol.

I would call the water board and ask them to turn up your pressure, moakes ages to fill your bath ect ect and they may do it. 15 psi is not good at all, what is your tds out of ro ? reason I ask my tds is 470+ >:(
-
I asked June about water pressures and such like...and one of the things she did say was that water companies do sometimes run with lower pressure at nights...saves money I suspect.
Cheers
Dave.

have you checked your stop cock in the road, it might not be fully open
