wow what a great idea google have come up with, you go to maps, put the street and area you want to see, and you get every angle great to view before you go to a new job, at least you know what you are getting into, it is like you are really there, it is even possible to quote a price from this, funny thing is i can only get scotland, i think they are still adding the streets onto the map
see how it works

open google then open maps just ad number street and area, a flaf should aper with a pic on it click view it is superb, am putting a video on in about a half hour
-
It may give you an impression of how much to charge, but I doubt it would show you locked gates, back gardens covered in obstacles, the actual height of a building (I mean I've 1st floor windows as high as 2nd floor windows); parking; and other access problems.
Call me negative, but I don't think you can beat actually going to view a property to give a proper quote.
-
i agree with you tosh, but at least you know roughly what you are going to be working on,
-
it might help ftp see the mounds of dog crap that he allways gets ;D ;D ;D

I saw a french car the other day with 4 cameras on its roof driving up and down all the roads and it had the google logo on the side.

Well, I tried it and all I got was a map ???
Not only that, when I put my address in, the pointer saying "31 Woodberry Drive" was actually pointing at no 37. They'd better watch out if I'm on Al Qaeda's hit list ;D ;D
-
i think you will find in a few weeks all the streets being added on to the map, i checked a few streets in scotland and they all work

We've had street view for ages in Perth, its great. I use it all the time for work. You can drive down a street straight to the house, no need to look at the number. That and my TomTom is all I need. ;D

not long back from mandurrah just south of perth, i managed to get one expat scot started in wfp while i was over, there is a huge scope for wfp sales over there, in fact outside the uk/ireland and the states/canada and part of mainland europe i think the next big sales map is oz and NZ.

seen a car with big camra on today
these cameras are mounted on ordinary cars ( maybe getting local guys to do the filming, wish i knew about it i would have offered my services), the cameras are about 6 feet high on a pole type thing above the car with multi angle cameras, they seem to film every possible angle as they drive along, i saw a guy today in one also but he was parked up outside a sandwich shop getting his lunch, if only i was two minutes later i might have been famous. 8)
