My Nissan Primastar is giving me problems.
The Heater plug light is coming on now and then and now it will only start from a pull start. I know this is a very common fault as its all over the internet but i can't find a definete cure for this problem. We'll talk about clutch and loss of power and hesitating another time.. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Someone please help????
-
ive heard that fault i think it indicated a glow plug fault
loss of power and hesitating sounds like fuel supply fault, not enough fuel getting to pump, change fuel filter, check condition of air filter, does it sort of judder?
-
Yes of all above.. I have replaced the fuel and oil filter.
On the net there posts about egr valve camshaft sensor fuel pumps injectors..
But nowhere i can find a definete answer.

if it was the erg valve you would get smoke getting any?? black/white
how many miles has it done??
could be an injector hate to say it fuel pump
starting sounds like glow plugs
your going to have to get it put on a tester
-
if it is the pump contact http://www.dieselbob.co.uk re-builds pumps, very very helpful

No smoke. DCi's d'ont use glow plugs afaik
60k miles. Hoping its not injectors / fuel pump. There seems to be plenty diesel coming in through fuel filter housing..
I had it on diagnostics but only coming up saying coil plug or electrical problem hence the light on dash.

a coil plug, is a glow plug just more advanced,
would say one has gone or controller, depending on the fault logger it would have diagnosed this. was it a main dealer fault logger?
no smoke good news,
the loss of power and hesitating fuel problem, air in system or not enough fuel to pump, fuel strainer? filter in fuel tank
-
Not a main dealer log. Just local garage and the aa. My mechanic thinks it maybe air coming in through fuel filter housing.
-
sounds like your local garage has a basic logger, your going to have to take it to someone who has more complex logger, i have a very very basic logger displays 999 faults.
does sound like air problem, check hoses, fuel filter housing.
air leaks can also cause starting problems, but you said flagged coil plug or electrical problem.
