Title: Carbon block filter?
Post by: simp on March 18, 2009, 01:36:08 pm
Got a Brodex E250RO. Have just ripped it apart to install the filters into a tank in my garage and then transfer to van. I've read loads about carbon filters etc and wonder whether it would benefit my system by installing one. At the mo I only have the sediment/membrane/resin. Will it extend the life of the membrane? Have seen some systems with 2 carbons, 1 sediment etc. Bit confused ???

most membranes can not tolerate chlorine, so a carbon filter gets rid of it. Yes the membrane would last longer

Ok, thanks. I'll get one straight away. Which ones the best, there seems to be varying types on the market?

Thanks for the link. Carbon block? Carbon granular? Chlorplus10? Really confused now! Shall I go for the cheapest, all of them, or a combination. Forgive me for seeming a bit thick!
