Title: Microbore?
Post by: ftp on March 16, 2009, 10:11:30 pm
Are there different qualities does anyone know?
I have streamline two years old but it's showing signs of wear and trying to kink. I see Gardiners do microbore - any different? Anyone know?

WCW say their's is the best. Won't buy from them 'cos they dress a bit posh. Gardiners seem the cheapest at the moment (but i don't like Alex's shirt).

I don't know  :'(

We had some microbore from Gardiners over a year ago and it was poor quality and not up to the job. It seemed thin and not very flexible. It is now gathering dust in our unit.
Went and bought streamline 8mm from WCW and it has given no problems at all.
By the way, that was the only thing we have ever had trouble with from Gardiners.

I bought mine three years ago from Varitech and its still fine. Its in constant use every day and I was only thinking the other day how well its lasted. Looks to me like it should go on another three years at least.  Its streamline by the way.

Yes there are different qualities.  We introduced Microbore™ to the UK market many years ago (before we started supplying nationally) and very quickly found that standard airline hose and similar was just not up to the job.  Since then we have had it specially made to our specification which has proved reliable and far superior.  If it is very cheap then it probably isn't the right stuff.

After what I've just posted above, this doesn't sound right - "It seemed thin and not very flexible".   We can get it collected from you, have a look at it and send you some replacement if we find a problem.

I haven't removed any of the tongue in cheek stuff, but the thread is veering way off line because of it (hence why such things are generally removed) The above posts show how a simple aside can cause others to veer totally off topic.

Please stay on topic guys, its a pain having to remove reply after teply  :-\

No, but his skirt is made of grass!

Ooops, sorry Ian, just read your post! I luv microbore and wouldn't have anything larger because it traps wheely bin wheels in a way no other hose can!
