Title: website critics wanted
Post by: CARPET KNIGHTS on March 15, 2009, 04:14:01 pm
Hi Everybody

I am in the process of building a website for another carpet cleaning company and would like your views on the design.

It is a rebuild of my one of my own sites from the ground up, making xhtml 1.0 strict and css compliant

Anyway here it is.....

It is the design and layout i am talking about. Will not costruct the complete site until i am happy with the layout as it is easier to alter one page than all of them.

Steve it is standard filler script that you will find on most sites in the design stage!

Just shows how much I know about web design  ;D   seriously though the front page layout looks fine to me, like the background too.

Clinton

Yes, Kev did the Reigate site for me, very pleased, number 1 on page 1 within 3 weeks of it being optimised.

What is the turn around for a site ie from the date of order to the site to be up and ready just asking as it might help :)

Clinton

About a week to get the basic setup like i have done and then it is easy basically setting up each new page from the main one and just changing the content and few few coding bits. If all the content was ready to be inserted into the site about 1 1/2 weeks.

Steve

Thanks mate the background took a bit of doing, knew what i wanted to do but had never done it before so was a bit of a learning curve, it may look simple but it isn't.

Like it just a matter of putting the correct wording together to get the client to buy, what's fascinated me is that you have a Nemesis logo? I thought you used M power?

Looks very good Goron.

I had a look at your webdesign site.

What shopping carts do you use?

art

The shopping cart is basically a series of coded links that take you to a secure payment processor hosted by a company called patasys the process card payments.

Patrasys.com

Shaun remember this is not my site it is my clients it is what he uses!

It is to show that it is that page that is active all the pages will have that when they are active!

Thx Clinton
The idea behind prices was to hopefully cut down on the priceshoppers, still get the occasional would you like to clean my 5ft x 4ft porch for £10 ;D

Sites all home made.

Thats the way i want to go down :)

How do you get on with all your sites ie do you get more work with the diferent areas at the front of your sites.

Wish i could do the sites lol.

Roy your site is great do you get much from it? the prices IMO are affordable (NOT CHEAP) okay I know I may charge more but the point I'm making is that you are selling your quality and using your site as a booking line, very good.

Prob best to say in few weeks as some sites are less than 2 weeks old.
Overall think that the spammers on Google maps get most replies.

Need to exchange some links for oswestry, whitchurch sites if anyone is interested.

Thats what i was thinking with roys sites.

Like the fresh and easy to read as well and when the cllients ring it because they see a good site and not with all the ins and outs of water lift etc lol.

I like a site that gives a few facts though, litterally makes me look like a professional and know what I'm doing so a few numbers here and there doesn't hurt but you have to keep if fresh so people can pick bits as most people skip across the bulk of writing, no such thing as compelling text anymore IMO internet saw to that.

It looks spot on that does, quite refreshing! I was thinking of going all eco and calling myself the "Eco Dirt Warrior" My wife pi**ed herself laughing so that was that put to bed ;D (She laughed at the name, not the eco cleaning idea I hasten to add!)

Just try and forget to put Helston on your list of covered areas  ;D ;D ;D

Best regards, Colin.

Clinton how long is a piece of string? I don't believe that seo is an exact science and is some what a black art!

Having said that though the tiling site that i built recently, www.cornwalltiling.co.uk went to number 3 for local search within three weeks and took top spot within 2 months ahead of a site which has had big money spent on it
