Depends on how good you are, how much training have you had, whats the job like, access, travel.
Many things to consider
I would normaly charge btween £65 & £75 but then I am good. ;)
So what did you charge her then?

Hi phil
It's just a straight foward job she's moving the furniture so room's almost clear,
as for training many moons ago worked for exclusive & OCS, and also NVQ assessor in general cleaning/floor work/deep cleans. I'm just moving in to carpet cleaning I'll be using the host . I was thinking of charging £50
Kev

Kev,
If you are just moving into carpet cleaning on a professional level, then you wont do it with a Host. That set up is only suitable for those rare one off jobs that MAY come by when the better methods for some reason may not be suitable. Agree with Mark £80 for HWE.
Dave.

£109.20

Shaun

hi
Can anyone of those people who dont like the host, come back to to me and tell me whats wrong with host machine? I have to have a machine where the public
can walk on the carpet straight away , one good point I don't mess around with loads of water!
Kev
-
come on KL
"Mess" about with water now thats a bit below the belt
geoff
-
hi
The question is still not answered PROBLEM WITH HOST MACHINE, my cleaning contracts like it, as the public don't have to wait for the carpet to dry, I can get on with the job even if they are open as it's dry method, toddlers club love the idear as there little darlings don't get wet knees :)
Kev

KL why is you daughter learning russian? still worried about the cold war ;)
I must have an overactive bull***U detector, it's alway going off ;)
Mike
-
well done KL you got pay,d they got a clean carpet.
thats all that matters customer satisfaction.
most customers I meet havent got aclue what system we use only that we get results.
ps KL Don,t feel so threatend have a bit more cofidence in your abilites good luck
Neil ;)
-
KL,
The machine is superb - but the method does not produce a deep clean.
Try re-cleaning with HWE - or even bonnet buffing - and see how much dirt comes out !
-
hi
least someone has come back with привет как вас зовут вы дурак! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
-
KL,
I couldn't even type that, let alone pronouce it.
Getafer 'ya basser ;D
-
hi
whats happen to those cynical people waiting хочу говорить!
-
привет Mike вы не говорите,почему?
that was just a message from my daughter who doesn't liked to be called a lie.
I thought these forums were to ask advice and gain some help, :-\ but as it's been said on other subjects on these forums that people just take the p*** or just cynical.
Kev >:(
-
From what I've seen of the HOST system it's good for cleaning areas on a regular basis but quite often HWE is required initially to get the carpet really clean - then regular cleans with HOST to maintain the cleanliness of the carpet.
-
KL, lack of sense of humour must run in the family then ::) ::)
I don't know about being full of cynics & people taking the Pi** I'm finding too many people on these forums with very thin skins.
come on lighten up ;)
Mike
-
I'd have to charge the same as I do for rugs. £2-50 sq ft = £780
But they have to bring the carpet to me and collect it a week later.
Must say I'm not to happy with all you guys undercutting me.
Would anyone like to valet my Bentley?
;D
Al

It's not worth trying to explain why she is doing russian, if people still think the cold war is still on ;D
as for a sense of humour my daughter posted a joke in russian
kl
-
what dio you call a russian chocolate thief?
nikablokachokoff :D :D :D
was your daughters joke as funny as mine ;)
on a serious note, I admire your daughter for learning a second language (or perhaps its her native tongue) we brits are being left behind in europe for not inproving our ability to converse with our nieghbouring countries.

Although I now only use Host Dry Extraction as a problem solver, I used it quite extensively in the past for both residential and commercial work. The system is capable of superb results, but it can be very time and labour intensive. I found the biggest drawback with the system was the spotting. Whereas with wet and LM cleaning, many spots come out without any extra work, Dry Extraction requires most spots to be treated individually. Although I've never tried it, I suspect that a pre-clean treatment with a microsplitter may reduce this factor. I've achieved superb results on oily/greasy soil and Host is still my system of choice with toner spillages.
As for charges on the example given by KL, I would charge a premium for the added benefit of a totally dry carpet on completion, probably about £150, but consumables are high cost. If you have a USP (unique selling point) such as this, it demands a premium. At £60 for Host, you will not be in business too long.
Good fortune.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Thanks Ken & everyone for the advice, as I said before I also use it as problem solver in my cleaning contracts, it's true that you have to treat spots individually.
Well if i'm going to use as full time carpet cleaner then it's back to the drawing board and twek over my plans.
No my daughters native tounge is british, she's going to be an trainslattor, there's lots going on soon in the russian financial world :)
Well must go now, no rest rest for the wicked got to get a floor scrub & polished for the morning.
