well i tried to get on with it, it just does not work for me, it leaves smears behind every time, today i had a whole house to do inside, the sun was blasting at these windows, so thought i would put gg3 to the real test, had the solution ready in a spray bottle. covered the washer and scrubbed the glass, because the glass was hot, i hurried fast as i could but the heat evaporated the solution before i could finish blading of. it left real bad smears, i honestly just could not get the glass clear, lucky i had fairy with me, had to change every thing, restarted the cleaning, and guess what, they all turn out perfect every time, and did not dry out so quickly, reason why i used gg3 was because they say it stays wetter for longer, so thought this situation was perfect to use this stuff, ok i wont blame gg3 i think it was the mixture, pity it was not ready mixed to the right proportion, how do you mix your gg3 or 4, for the record i did use pure water with it
-
i had same problem with the stuff when i tried it, i use squeggee off from etore it is brilliant.
-
cant beat Fairy ;D ;D
-
cant beat Fairy ;D ;D
yea i would agree with that, you know the old saying if it is not broken dont fix it i will stick to fairy ;D
-
cant beat Fairy ;D ;D
fairy is good for the suds but on internal work attracts dirt and gets a film on quicker than squegee off, this doesnt matter if work has short intervals between cleans but on some commercial work that has intervals of 3 months or over it shows up pretty bad.
fairy is also horrible when converting to wfp as the suds that come out of seals takes ages to rinse away on first cleans.
so stan when you convert to wfp [ i know you want to really ;D ;D] dont use fairy for a couple of cleans before hand.
-
You know what the GG stands for don`t you good god this stuff is rubbish lol,i must admit when i used it i found it was only good on insides. It wears your rubbers out quicker aswell.
-
Fairy works better with a new or newish rubber, you don`t get such a film left on the glass with fairy if you use a new blade.
-
Fairy best, been window cleaning 15 years with it. So what about the film. As long as all is good when u leave . I have used gg3 and gg4. Both not to my liking. Too much friction. Fairy has plenty of slide.
-
i assumed the labatory that made this stuff, took in to consideration the rubber needs to glide, after all thats all the soap is for, so i take it these guys where not window cleaners as usual,
-
It makes me lol when i hear people say it has the perfect glide for WC more like the worst,£30 odd quid for it what a rip off.
-
I still have some of mine left, it glides fine if you use more of it. it does take getting used to as not as slippy as fairy
-
GG3 does work but only if you use 10 times the recommended dosage!!!!!! try it. It just won't let the rubber slip other wise, resulting in skip marks & smears.
This makes it uneconomical to use. It does leave a lovely gleam on the glass though.
Here is my recommended solution- 20ml of squeegee off + 5ml of GG3 in 8 to 10 litres of water. = some suds, loads of slip & gleaming glass! :D

;D ;D

Squeegee Off is the best used fairy for 18 years then Squeegee Off the last 2 would never go back to Fairy.
-
a few have said that squeegee of was good, why does it differ from fairy, is it not a soap the same as fairy
-
Fairy isnt a soap its a lot stronger its made for getting grease and other crap of dishes. The odd time when i ran out of Squeegee Off and had to use fairy i always thought it left a lot of white marks when it dried in like when you get kick marks of your Squeegie.
-
so why is squeegee of better darren, in what way, do you think it does a better job, does it shine better, can you give me an example, sorry to ask all those question, but i have never used anything else apart from fairy, and gg3
-
Jouk i just added that to my post above.
-
if you use it in a spray bottle only use this method on maintenance cleans, lightly spray and buff with a dry micro fibre.
when i use it in a bucket i put it on the applicater then put the applicater in the bucket.
i hate fairy liquid i dont use it in the house or for cleaning windows

Jouk when fairy liquid dries i find it leaves a white residue on the window like when you get kick marks of your squeegie.
-
i cant say i have had that problem with fairy darren, i will give anything a try if the reviews are good, i will try squeegee of, see how i get on with that, thanks guys for all your help
-
squeegee off i also good Joe I got a bottle from somewhere for free and still have that, I very rarely do trad these days. I does have more glide then gg4

ok i thought i would give it one more bash as i had a big inside job this morning, so i followed your instructions marmac, and guess what, it was brilliant, lovely and smooth no juddering or friction, and the shine was great, custy was over the moon, i never had squeegee of so i just added 6 drops of fairy, so which did the job was it the fairy or gg3 ;D
-
I have exactly the same probs with unger 51, so i added a few drops of fairy job done. Make me wonder why bother and just use fairy ::)

Fairy and Squeegee off have high levels of salt and leave a residue in the seals etc.
First shower of rain and the windows will spot.
Glass Gleam does not contain salt and will leave very little residue on the windows
I can WFP windows that have been cleaned with GG3 with no spotting. Do the same with Fairy or Sq Off and they usually spot.
Just my experience.

yeah, that'll have a similar effect. I used to use gg3 + ecover washing up liquid. As said, you need to add something to gg3 to get the slip. I would advise you get a small bottle of squeegee off the next time you order some stuff & try the ultimate solution! :D

Before i used Sqeegee Off i tried Unger first used it for about 3 months found you had to use loads of it to get suds but loved the smell of it i then tried Squeegee Off and used to use both part Squeegee part Unger it worked well but thought it was a bit stupid using both so just use Squeegee Off now and it works great.

PLEASE SEND IT TO ME ASAP EDD

Fairy problems yes, never had a problem with squeegee off though. Where is it that you get the high salt levels information from? Never heard of it. :)

Salt creates slip.
There was a product that only provided slip and not cleaning. Can't recall the name.
Like the others, I find GG3 excellent but you need to use more than the baottle tells you (much like squeegee off actually)
We use approx 35ml per 5 litres of water

You will also note that Squeegee Off has been tested on animals >:(

should do the tests on sex offenders and leave the nice animals alone ;D
-
I use more than 35ml i dont know how much just pour abit in so i get a few suds.
-
We use the small dispenser bottles you get with gg. This gives measures of 5ml. We use 7 measures. Another point we find is that gg3 loses it's strength quite quickly and you need to chanhge the water. With fairy and sq off I just used to add a bit more in and it keot going.
