i've just been asked to clean the public areas in an apartment block. Due to the layout of the building and other factors LM cleaning would be the ideal choice. I've got a heavy duty pile lifter vac and a rotary, and also a couple of charley pads that i've used in the past. I've tried LM cleaning with this set up in the past and while some results have been OK i've never really been happy with the results. Just looking for suggestions as to what chemicals to use, any different pads bonnetts wharever and any advice as to technique. Sorry almost forgot carpet is low profile nylon lightly soiled and very few stains.
Kind Regards
Eddie

Whats the fluids you use Eddie?
Solutions have just brought a new fluid out for bonneting - Fusion Clean I think it is.
I have not tried it but others have and say it is good. Good value for money by all accounts.

Hi Eddie.
What pilelifter do you have?.
I`v just bought an old Chemspec one and its a beast. I tried it out on Sunday on LP
and I was so impressed with it (thanks to John Kelly for the contact details ;))
After we pilelifted, presprayed with DFC105, agitated with stiff rotary brush and bonneted with bonnet wrung out with DFC following dilution rates.
Looked at it yesterday, like yourself I thought it was OKish. I think I could of been more generous with the prespray though.
The carpet was about 12 years old, without a Pro clean, but didn`t look that bad. Perhaps this was a bad example for LM.
Would love to get LM bonneting sussed.
Rab.

So do I! we can swap stories next month, lm, pilelifter etc ;D

Yeah, Sorry Len. I forgot theres only one way, a TM. When will I ever learn?.
The flexi 5. I dont know why Chemspec bother. ::)
-
Thanks for replies
Unfortunately not possible to use tm in this situation I have got one and yes I wish I could use it. Very difficult to use Porty as only tap and drain we can use is miles away hence thoughts running towards LM clean.
I've got a Chemspec Pile Lifter and yes wonderful tool really opens up the pile for cleaning and removes everything caught in the pile.
Problems for me are the rotary cleaning side of things i've tried solutions microsplitters in the past with charly pads and while they are ok never really been happy. Just wondered what sort of pads people use and does anyone use shampoo brush to agitate before using pads and which cleaning product would anyone reccomend.
Thanks
Eddie

I use prochem bonnet buff and gives the pads a good lubrication so wont dry quick resulting in scorch the pile:)
Give it a good pre vac mind you.
I use the cotton pads form my days when i had texatherm :)
-
why not use dry fusion ? ::)

Hi Guys
I normally use Texatherm but have my own Dry6 system, which is basically a work in progress, allowing we to experiment.
I recently did some very dirty tiles in a factory with Texatherm but where oil had been dripped, a lowish visocity one which had penetrated, results were not brill.
I decided to go over with Ultrapac and with the acidic neutraliser in the tank, it appeared to work well and when I went back a few weeks later they were really pleased.
Sometimes best to think outside the box, if it works well with HWE , why not with LM ?
Cheers

Hi Eddie,
It will depend upon the layout of the blocks and how many sockets/electrical supply there is to each block. We have taken on a contract to clean 15 blocks (3 storey) over 2-3 years. As I wish to keep the contract and not leave residue behind in the carpet I am using my Texatherm EMV Setup. The EMV allows me to:
Low mositure clean all upper corridors and top stairs where the carpets are more lightly soiled.
Spray extract the lower staircase (heavily soiled) and lower corridor.
The best part is you only need the EMV, Rotary hoses & Pads. The system then allows you to either Low moisture clean or Extract with the one set of kit!
On the initial clean we were able to outperform the three previous companies who had used truckmounts to splitters!
Food for thought?

Out performed a truckmount. :o
Everyone knows that nothing out performs a truckmount ;)
Next you will be telling us that Solutions sell the best products ;D
-
Fenman,
I think you need to read my post again. Who said it out performed a truckmount?. The post read:
On the initial clean we were able to outperform the three previous companies who had used truckmounts to splitters!
The cleaning that they carried out was deemed to be poorer than we were able to achieve, that from the Facilities Manager. Dont twist words!

It was meant to be a bit of banter hence the smilies.

Eddie
What system are you using ???
-
Hi
Clinton sorry not replied directly to you yet, I haven't got a dry fusion sustem when using LM used a rotary with charley pads and Solutions products, or have used prochem procaps with a Host machine. Neither really gave me confidence hence my question of what people use wasn't sure wether any new products or techniques were been used that might improve performance of this type of cleaning.
Usualy use my Spitfire or if not that Ninja Portable , neither would really work on this job.
