I do - and its proved to be a goldmine but its been bought out by BT and since then its gone downhill. I had 2 of their sites and one was good, one not. If you want to ring me I'll explain

I got a basic free listing on touch local for free.It only costs if you want to expand your listing into website link etc.
In the early days i had a few phone calls from them trying to get me to expand advert and pay big money but just said no and 3 years later I am still on there for free, albeit just company name, phone number and service we offer. ie oven cleaning.

Hi All

They have been pestering me for a while - told the guy to put the deal in writing (see below)
Key benefit for me would be good google exposure - if it works. They guarantee 400 hits. Would need to convert 4 leads to jobs (av job value= £112.34) to pay for ad.

Your views would be appreciated......

Hi Mervyn,

It was good talking with you earlier.

As promised, please find below and attached an overview of the features and benefits of advertising with TouchLocal.

-          Each month touchlocal.com commands over 3.5 million visitors, 8 million page views, and connects over 4 million buyers and sellers. We have a proven model for guaranteeing potential leads to local businesses, and this is available from as little as (£7.67 per week here)

-          Touch LeadFinder gives your business your own dedicated business profile, which is best compared to a mini web page. In here you can include a wealth of information on your business, including:

ü       Company photo/logo, and an image gallery of your businesses products and services

ü       6 relevant keywords that will get your profile recognised across major search engines

ü       Business address

ü       Direct link to your website, and the facility for customers to email you directly

ü       Your own online blog so you can keep new and existing customers aware of new developments

ü       Map that pinpoints your business location

ü       Facility to add, amend and remove special offers as you choose

ü       Online editing and reporting for your business, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

ü       Statistical reports that you can access any time, so you know exactly how your advertising is performing

And all of the above features are prominently positioned on touchlocal.com for search results relevant to your business, as well as targeted traffic from major search engines, including Google. And what’s more, unlike directory advertising, where your advert is published without changes for a full 12 months, you can log-in to your profile at any time, make updates and add special offers, new images and blog content to ensure that you are displaying all the necessary information to drive more and more customers to your business, day-in, day-out.

Our LeadFinder package, with all of the benefits listed, starts from only £399 + VAT (or £7.67 per week) for a minimum of 400 customers viewing your business profile. Initially, only a 10% deposit is required to secure this package, with 9 additional interest free payments.

Should you have any questions regarding any of the above then please don't hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to speaking to you again.

Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't give a timeframe for the 400 viewers??

Personally speaking,  if I'm looking for a local tradesperson, I don't use the big sites like this.  I much prefer to hit someone who has their own website - it's just something I prefer to do and if I do that, odds are that a few others do too.

I think you could spend £400 and get yourself a proper website sorted, and that'll be forever, not just 12 months.

My website has not cost a penny apart from the domain - I guess it's whether you have the contacts/ability/drive/know-how to sort it yourself.

Hope that helps.

It is Customer Street not touch local that we use.
Touch local contacted me the other day after speaking to the other half first. Told me that the other half had said that we were interested and that he was arranging an appointment to come and see us!  I told him it would be a waste of my time.
Started to get quite annoyed when he would not get off the phone, then my little one started screaming and holding the phone close to the noise soon gets rid of them  ;D

Advertising like this is such a gamble because they cannot guarantee anything even though they like to think so. Most of the time it is money down the drain

Try the keywords that you would like to use in Google and see if anything for touchlocal comes up - bet it doesn't - I'm getting good at proving them wrong on the phone (when I'm bored) ;)
