Derek
Is it just the van on lease or the Prowler as well.
If someone wanted to buy an item that someone else is leasing what do they have to do? are there any difficulties?

Both items are leased have spoken to companies concerned & there is no problem with selling the items or transfering the lease agreement

That info may help others Derek.

I am actually fixed up with a yellow "bob the builder" 15hp Prowler that JK was selling for a friend (just waiting to be able to pick it up) but would have been interested in the Prowler.

Would you sell the the machine separate from the van?or are they an item.
I know you probably want to do as a package - but again - to help others I ask the question.

Its a good machine and the van would seem right for it too.

don't understand how you can be selling something you don't even own, whats the incentive for someone to buy this set up when they can just go out and lease there own.
ps, this is a top set up so why u selling so quickly?

Just giving people the option to buy or lease via agreement with leasing company

Derek is selling up. If you buy the machine there are no further dealings with the leasing company. That debt is Dereks alone.
Anyone considering I would grab it now because there are price increases in the offing, that goes for most manufacturers. If the exchange rate get any worse which it may do you may find some equipment will become unavailable or available at really high prices.

John, if someone bought the machine, then Derek defaulted on his debt,
would the leasing company still own the machine ?

As a van and machine setup I think it is ideal.

Van is fairly low in height too, so should be ok getting into underground car parks in these modern flats.

I trust someone is looking seriously at this package, depending on the total price of course.

The debt has to be paid off up front i guess before it can be sold on ::)

As far as I am aware the leasing company have given him permission to sell. I'm sure a purchaser would be able to obtain that in writing from the leasing company. They are really good and are trying to be helpful.

What is up for sale exactly? and for exactly how much?

I think if John has more or less put his name to it by telling us it's kosher then it will be.

Spoke to Derek and he tells me lease details are
machine £251/ month for 2 1/2 year
van £268/month for 2 1/2 year

leasing company will sell machine for 5k and Derek will give you £300 to fix hairline crack in heat exchanger, as it wasnt protected properly from frost.

251 x 30months = £ £7530 so it is quite a bargain but how much was it in the first place? I thought they were £6000 inc.?

or was it £6k plus vat?

Its still second hand and there seems to be quite a few machines being sold (truck & porty) could it become a buyers market?

Hair line crack in the heat exchanger this is what puts me of buying a prowler or truckmount my van is parked about 30mtr from my house in a car park every winter i have to take machines inside house cost me £200 for pump for powermax in January because of frost but still want to buy a Prowler.
Title: Re: Prowler Truckmount + all accesories
Post by: Shaun_Ashmore on March 15, 2009, 02:13:13 pm
That's a bad way of looking at it, a continental quilt wrapped round it would probably be sufficient or go for broke with a petrol heater can't even to begin to spell the name.

I do agree with the cost though as soon as they leave the show room a car loses a third and a buyers market I think negotiations with the lease company but you have to remember 'how cheap do you want it?' because it could get advertised evrywhere therefore pushing up the price.

The proble as I see it is that when you see the price new at £6000 plus vat you see '£6000' and tehn complain about vat but when you are buying at £5000 with no vat the opposite applies, don't be too greedy.

Derek

Am interested in the prowler will the leasing company deal with me direct? Hate going to auctions.

The way I look at it. It’s third hand so the price should reflect this; some say I was born in Yorkshire.

This is serious enquiry cash waiting (well chaps).

At £5k for the machine and £300 off Derek to repair the crack - cant see why its still for sale!

Dont forget its 6 months old and would cost £6900 if it was 6 months younger - thats a £1900k saving 0r 31.7%

A quilt keeps my toes free of frost bite on a cold night - cant see why it wont help protect contents of your van.

As Shaun says - use some other form of heater - maybe it was an Eberspracher heater which uses the diesel from van, or a separate paraffin heater.

Lining the van roof and walls with thermal insulation will do a world of good as well to retain the heat.

Using a quilt for personel use works fine as it helps create body heat but dosent help machines in van i had a quilt over my machines in January and it didnt stop the casing on the pump from cracking and it was only -8.Tried a few on Ebay for parafin heaters 3 different sellers told me they were to dangerous to leave in van overnight. The only thing i could do is to run an extension from my house to van but thats a bit dodgy.

It's a total bargain and the only reason I'm not buying it is I have a 3 month old new one already. making a total of 4 of these they are great machines and work very well indeed.

It will only take less than a hour to change out the heat exchanger coil , for a spare, and you can get a eberspacher / webasto heater form £700 fitted that runs from your diesel tank that protect everything and even stops frost on the windows and give you a nice cosy van in the mornings  I know i have on one one of our vans and i works great.

The lad who is selling it is actually on holiday at the moment but I believe there is a buyer lined up.  I think the seller is back from holiday sometime this week and I will confirm the situation on his return.
