Title: HELP!!
Post by: R-CLEAN on March 05, 2009, 04:11:01 pm
AV spoke 2  some bloke on the phone earlier and he's ask me to clean his 3 piece suit but he says that someone has told him it has to be chemically cleaned. also mentioned that the insides feathered.

by chemically does he mean 'dry' cleaned do yous think.

thanks Ralph

This would depend on the fabric, suggest you take a look. Be aware natural fillings like feathers or horse hair can release oil. I would say solvents would be more likely to do this. Just wet cleaned a feather cushioned suite today with no problems. Take a look and check labels, certainly would not quote blind.

If you wet clean the cushions with the feathers be careful not to get them too wet as they will stink to high heaven.
Without seeing the material it is hard to give exact instructions.
I would either dry clean or wet clean with a terry towell wet pad method.
