Look at other cc's sites and base your site on the best out there. (Bearing in mind copyright)  ;)

The kind of site I like personally, nice and simple, no flashing this and framed that.
A couple of before and after pictures and a couple of customer testimonials?

Nice of Mr Straker to model for you.  ;) ;D

Thanks everybody.

Like i said it is still under construction but am going to try to keep  it as simple as pos. Still not 100% sure what to put on it yet though.

The picture is a little slow but the original file was massive and i have reduced it's quality as much as i can to make it load quicker, any less and its size starts increasing again for some reason.

glad you like the picture my sister in law helped me with it and then a friend re drew it to get the better quality. he's my company logo pretty good i thought.(my last name is Knight that's where the idea came from.)

keep the feed back coming.

By the way i got free hosting from a company called heart internet and the domain name carpetknights.co.uk was £6 just incase anybody else is building a site.

paul you site looks good loads of info.

Do you have to do anything to be able to put the copyright at the bottom or can you just put it there?

Just a word of warning...
Google will penalise your site if you copy text content.
On the other hand, it will reward you for unique and original content.

Goron,

I didnt realise it was there ;D It must be something in the software that automatically puts it there, To get around the problem highlighted by Mark you could always tweak things a little to keep it unique.

Could you make the knight smaller as have to scroll to the right to read words!

A picture of your van/setup would be better than the machine.

Take out the word wet and replace with damp (not practical to be wet)

Do you have a LM system? Worth putting in under commercial as TM’S cant get everywhere (and before any one jumps I have one TM that is)

A few before and after pictures would be nice say in another section. (use your own and not from any other site as we have all seen the before :()

Hope this helps

Agree with Len
I would shrink the man down to the same size as the knight text logo in height , then put him to the right side of the knight text logo. That would leave a nice space under for text. Maybe move the buttons down a bit too. Keep it the same on each page. (except pics)

nice one goron, did you do that from scratch with frontpage?  if so this is an excellent piece of work, good on you.

Hi Len,

Theres no way my site would fit on 800x600. At 1280x1024 would be better, then increse text size if you  need too.

Glad you all like it and thanks for all the feedback

Brilliant beginnings.

I always think that the page needs to be seen without scrolling up, down or sideways for best impact, when I am looking for something, eg mc bits, if the page does not tell me what I want straight away then I tend to move on-- but then I'm a grumpy old man nowadays! When I just looked some of the text overlapped other bits, that may just be me. Keep playing with it until your'e happy with it. Mine needs redoing.

Goron,

Hats off to you fella for putting together the site. I, and I suspect, others who utilise this forum would be very interested to know what increase in sales you can directly attribute to the web page once it is fully up and running. How you measure this is of course subjective. A limited tool I know but perhaps a hit counter may be of interest to you.

Kind regards

Stuart

Thanks again everybody.

Am having some problems that i don't know how to over come.

When some people view the site some of the bits seem to overlap each other. it looks fine when i view it.

can anybody help me?

Everyone is seeing what your seeing. I think what kinver clean meant is the text looks wrong because its pushed to the right of the knight and does not line up with the footer text.

my sister has looked at the site on her computer and she has said that some of the text on some of the pages overlaps other peices of text. I have made my site using layers and it would appear that the layers are moving around on different peoples computers.

I can see it now, the knoght hides behind the buttons if you have a small screen res or size. Why not use tables or css?

I think i have solved it. 8)

I have put the text that kept moving into text boxes and not in layers.

My sister has said that it now looks right on her computer. If it looks wrong on anybody elses computer can you let me know ;)

Goron

That’s better on format;

I would take out this info, which can come through your door or can be fed through a window if needed. Customer dose need to know

Also revamp this We use a wide selection of cleaning agents ranging from heavy duty detergents to totally safe detergent free micro splitters (these are state of the art cleaners and are entirely harmless to children and animals). Only use positives

The word anti out your telling the customer its bulletproof!

Still think you should put a picture of your van/machine.

Thanks Len,

Good to see that you're all actually reading it.

You won't believe it but i have been trying for the last half hour to upload the ammendments that you suggested but it keeps loading an old version for some reason.
