HA HA Talking about what people think of us. A guy called the local radio station talk show. I didn't hear what was said properly but heard the presenter say " You sir, are a baffon!" I thought well done fellow tradesman giving our profession a good name!
-
"You doing this full time now then?" said in a condescending, pitying way ::) >:( ???

Time to open the humour parachute, this is a light hearted post ;D

I know, but every time I hear it... I just crack up inside, just makes me laugh! ;D
Stan as for Buff = Standing in the Buff (naked) is one such use the other use is
Buff = highly polished!
-
And I was referring to Buff=highly polished! its a play on words you know ;D
-
I thought it meant Big Ugly Fat F person
-
It probably does mean that to certain people looking in the mirror ::)

My favourite was when I moved my stuff to let a guy off his drive.
I said "I'll just move my paraphenalia"
He said "That's a big word for a window cleaner!"
I said "Well, cleaning windows and intelligence or not mutually exclusive"
He said "No that's true, sorry"
So there's a lesson never dumb down to people's expectations.
Don't pretend you 'never went to school' as Pulp said.

well my sob story when canvassing is that i have just qualified from uni with a 2:1 in technology with design, i was in a design engineer job for 3 months (which i hated), i was then made redundant so i decided to go back to full time cleaning!!
but i do still need a calculator to add up the price of a few windows!!

A few months ago I was cleaning a customers house, he came out and gave me the money (£25).
As he gave me the money he said "You can't make much money doing this?".
Me: "Well, it pays the bills".
Cust: "There is a future you know... Maybe you should find a proper job with a pension etc...".
Me: "No thanks, I worked in IT for 10 years - never again".
He wasn't being nasty... But it just highlighted to me what some people think of us!
