Hi guys i've got a pure freedom trolley wfp system.
The problem i'm having is i'm using my car at the moment and ramming it full of 25litre drums. Starting to get severe back pain due to bending in the car to pull out the water and trolley.
Do any of you guys still use a car with your wfp set up? If so how you getting on.
Think it's time to get a van and go van mounted otherwise i'll be like hunchback in another few years.

try a small trailer mate it mite be better than spending on a van

I did this last year when my first van broke down, total nightmare, in the end I converted the barrels to a van/car mount but changing the barrels all the time was a pain in the bum, thank god it was only for 2 weeks till new engine was fitted.

I had Peter Fogwills trolley which takes 2 x 25L drums. I carried eight drums with me and found them quite ok to lift out and down. Just a bit time consuming is all.
Now I have a van.

No ending up like that camel hunchback for me ;D ;D

Why dont you syphon the water out mate?
Put the trolley near, have a small length of hose and syphon like you would petrol, you will find its quicker to fill up and no mess ;)

Oh and no lifting ;)

Van is the way to go.
If only people would listen to that, it would save them hundreds, perhaps thousands. In the end, almost everyone goes van mount.

leave trolley and barrels in car just run microbore off it
thats what i did out of my focus for a while, load my barrels
up in morning with trolley not lifted again untill end of day.
just had a 6-7ft of half inch hose off the trolley which then
connected to my reel of microbore outside of car
simples ;D ;D

Ive got a van now
400 L tank in van ( filled with about 300 L )
i then got a 14 L sub pump ( its 12 V ) so i can fill my barrel when its in the cart, it takes under 2 mins to do it
job done

When I first started I had a Discovery in which I carried six 25litre drums and a trolley system. Roof rack for the poles and away I went. Worked good for a while, then I realised how much diesel the disco was using. So... Been out and bought a very cheap Vauxhall combo van. Seeing as how I'm a mechanic anyway I thought it wouldn't pose much of a problem to fix it up. It flew through it's MOT even if it does have 187000 miles on it.
So been looking around and got a few idea's about van mounted systems. Went to B&Q and got a 190 litre lift tank. A pump, some fittings, etc. I've made a subsantial frame which is securely bolted through the chassis with plates that will not 'pull through' in the unlikely event of any van/hedge interface problems.
The system I have is working well I can report. The best innovation is the purchase of a remote key fob device from maplins. Wired into the system and the aerial wired to the now disconnected heated rear window of the van gives me remote on off around the house I'm cleaning. ;D Even works when not in direct line of sight with van. Have thought about the three channel one so I would have three speeds, but am managing with just one speed up to 3 storeys.
Only issue so far is a certain amount of surge due to the tank not being baffled when cornering, but also being an ex-sailor i do not suffer from sea sickness.
All in all, if you really want a van system, you can do it a damn sight cheaper than advertised. Heath Robinson maybe, but to me that is half the fun.
