Title: Prochem Citrus Gel
Post by: Jeremy on March 02, 2009, 09:59:25 am
This may sound like a stupid question.

Ever since I have been using Prochem Citrus Gel, I have often wondered if it is just a watered down hand cleaner. I know it certainly removes grease off your hands, but I've never tried hand cleaner on a carpet.

Your thoughts

My advice would be to use hand cleaner on hands and carpet cleaning products on carpets.
We should all know what damage household cleaning products can do to carpet fibres.

Using Citrus Gel as a hand cleaner will lead to serious de-fatting of the tissue and possibly dermatitis.

Prochem citrus gel I find to be an excellent product for the removal of tar and grease on carpets and works just as effectively as some of the more volatile substances out there.

A hand cleaner it certainley is not though.

Hi,

Read the prochem MSDS then the back of a bottle of hand cleaner.  They are definitely different.

Citrus Gel contains amyl acetate (which is a non volatile solvent) and some terpenes.
Hand Cleaner is generally potassium lauryl sulfate and a concoction of conditioners, fragrances and colours.

Ladies & Gents.

Thanks for the replies.

I find it amasing how some of you interpreted the initial statement into using Citrus Gel as Hand Cleaner. No wonder the tabloids make so much money in the UK.
