Title: Best pole for domestic/light comercial
Post by: D.Salkeld_Ltd on March 01, 2009, 10:31:04 pm
Hi Folks,

I recon this pole is the best value pole you can use for Domestic/light comercial work.

http://www.cleantech.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=215

Read my review (I don't use the Salmon swivel anymore)

I have 2.   One cut dowm to about 15' and the other full size and they do nearly everything (I have a 30' Fishing pole for high stuff)

It stands up to all the abuse us window cleaners give a pole and spare parts are cheap as chips.

This is how to adapt it:

1. To fit the brush
    You will need:
     http://www.cleantech.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_40&products_id=35
Take the end cone out and replace with one of the above.
     Then attatch:

     Then attatch brush

2.  To fit Pole Hose
     A.  Outside Pole
Cable tie the end of your pole hose leaving about 3-4inch over just below the adapter at the top of the pole
Open out the top section and set it as far as it will go to be held firmly.  Mark the top section so you know
            to go no further.
Cable tie the hose just below the cone on the second section.
Repeat the above for the next section.
Now cut the hose just below halfway down the base section and add one of these.
           http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Flow_Control_Valves.html
Then simply run a length of hose to a connectorfor your hose

      B. Inside Pole
Drill a hole 12mm through the top of the top section.
Drill a hole 12mm through the end of the base handle
The worst job is pushing the hose through the top hole.  Onc eyou have got it going it will slide down
through the rest of the pole until it appears out of the bottom section then pull the rest through.

Hope this is of some use to some one

David

I use the Unger Teleplus with the cleantech aluminium brush adapter and the plastic angle adapter.

When the Unger pole wears out, I will probably get one of the cleantech poles.

For domestic, I think they are fine.

Ian,

Your Unger Telepole will never wear out.  The cones will, well the clips inside do and you can get a set for a few quid.
The "Cleantech" pole has better cones.  They tighten quicker, don't need much turning and the clamps are better.
