hi there,
ok, phone rings, very nice lady from our bank on the phone.
" can you help drunk boyfriend has dropped toilet duck all over bathroom carpet, and i've used vanish on it but it hasnt worked what do i do?"
my reply
well you could ask me nicely and i will have a look at it for you.
ok the carpet is light beige. i am thinking that by using the vanish she may well have fixed the stain.
im thinking, that it needs to be washed through first, and then a stain remover possible 'citrus gel' and then rinsed through again.
so can anyone please provide a solution or a definitive so that we can tackle the issue confident of a positive result.

Confodence is very low on this one. A lot of these type of products have very powerful bold colours which can dye the carpet.
If the stain doesn't respond to normal rinsing, cleaning and bleaching tactics, and only if the fibre is 100% polypropylene firstly make sure there is no residue from left from the spillage and treatments and use a 50/50 household bleach/cold water mix. Test. Apply carefully and avoid wetting the backing, watch carefully and freshwater rinse very thoroughly with extra drying strokes. Repeat as deemed necessary if safe to do so. Finish with an acid rinse. Wear your PPE as necessary (gloves, eye protectors, mask, apron). Do not use this technique on any other fibre.
Make sure the customers aware of what you are doing and why. The PPE will help to justify a premium charge.
Safe and happy cleaning :)
