Title: Rust stains on plastic
Post by: Mike 108 on February 27, 2009, 05:58:30 pm
Will anything get long-standing rust stains off uPVC fascias and window sills?

I can get some marks off using a 50/50 mix of cream cleaner/uPVC cleaner - but not all of them.

Thanks.

Mike

There is a pvc cleaner that double glazing fitters use, but I can't remember what it's called but if you went to a double glazing co that will sell you some I'm sure

It takes off everything

I have cleaned some pretty horrendous surfaces over the last three years, for our supermarket cleaning. Stores that have never been cleaned and then they expect a new pin finish.

We use a lot of cream cleaners but there is one you cannot beat

Doctor Power £5.00 for a tub and it gets most marks off. I think JML do it and you could buy it in Woolies (not anymore though!!!) and some other high street names

Rob ;D

you just need a light abrasive cleaner, something like CIF, it will remove the stain as it will remove a very thin layer of the PVCu Coating
