Ello peeps, does anyone use the microfibre cloth, if so any good? Better than grade A scrim? cheers in advance
-
i bought two and tried them, gave one away and the other is gathering dust in my van i much prefer scrim
-
ARE YOU USING FLAT WEAVE...oops.. they are much better than a scrim.
-
I don't like them i prefer scrim but i expect its what you are use to.

prefer scrims. I find microfibers get soaking quickly and when wet they leave a mark when you are framing. If you are going to use microfibers, then the Unger MFC is a good choice. You can get ones out of tescos for a fraction of the cost that work pretty good as well.
My advice is stick with scrims mate.

I prefer the microfibres, got six and use them all the time. They do get wet quickly but thats because they take up the water so well.

Scrim for detailing after trad & micro's for cleaning small panes of glass, that's how I use them. I find micro's crap for detailing.

100% agree with you, I hated them at first, old scrim is far better IMO, but micros are very good at the same time, but they dry your hands out big time,

used to use scrims and tea towels ( towels best and cheapest) but then went to micro fibre for couple of years before going wfp. I found micro fibre far superior to scrim but used two or three times more in a day due to their smaller size. in the end i bought a bag of 50 to last a couple of days. still use them now for insides. imo scrim is back there with shammy leather, even trad progresses 8)

i use 2 micro s on each house sometimes 3 . Scrim is poop it leaves smeares on edge of glass i use scrim on the sills have done for years

Personal choice I know but I think you've got to move with the times and if you're still trad then Unger micro fibre cloths are an improvement on scrims, though I sqeegee everything I can. I keep about a dozen in the van and they are a good size too compared to some other brands.
