I've never dunked the bonnets, just give them a dampening with the pump sprayer.

I'd have a trigger spray hooked into my pocket to give a quick shot of stronger stuff on any marks that don't seem to be shifting.

from what ive discovered so far.
a bonnet clean will give a better result (visually) on a low profile office carpet but!
i cleaned an office carpet on thursday night, i used HWE with an rx, when emptying the tank, the water was absolutly filthy, (not been cleaned for 2 years).
now there was still shading where the door was and some of the chairs where they spin round, yet i feel the way i cleaned was far more beneficial to the client in this case due to the length of time between cleans, i will be going back in 6 months to do a bonnet clean and expect to get better results, this was the advice i gave the client and she was ok with this, there is no way i could of got all that soiil out with just a bonnet clean and i'm presuming if i had of bonnetted then traffic lanes would have appeared more quickly.

so from now on, if i come across a LPC that has not been cleaned for a while, i will quote for a full HWE followed by traffic lane bonnetting, but educate the client as to why they need both cleaning processes, something i didn't do this time, i'm going back monday night to bonnet, for free, (my fault)
then hopefully they'll still use me every 6 months.

derek (still learning) west

Bonnet cleaning is ok on low profile tiles, I would go for HWE in a hotel on BW prob too heavily soiled for LM.
Bonneting would be ok every 3 months for a maintainance clean. I bet the bonnets were black, how many did you get through John?

Hi mark  I.ve only got 10 bonnets and used them all , the only reason I tried me dry fusion was because I did.t have enough hose to get up too the fourth floor

Offer commercial jobs a 10% discount if they pay within 7 days of completion, just add 10% on to the quote.Mark

You could even ask for payment when you have done the job to help with your cash flow???

Hi John,
Just enquiring about the dry fusion,
You say it did a useless job on the corridors.
Just interested cos I was thinking about investing in one for commercial work like hotels.

Hi Guys,
I do not wish to start another pointless discussion about truckmount v porty v bonnet cleaning but bonnetting seems to be classed as an inferior way of cleaning by some.
Bonnetting is like any other method, you need the correct equipment and the knowledge to use it to obtain the best result.
I have often seen on here a newbie asking for advice and they are always advised to seek training before they tackle mrs Smith`s carpet or upholstery.
Why does this not apply to bonnetting.
The theory seem to be that it is so easy that all you need is a rotary, a sprayer,  a couple of pads and away you go.
When this does not give the result you are looking for then it must mean that the cleaning method is crap not the fault of the user.
I am not having a go at anyone and do not want to start a war but just feel that we need to open our minds to the different methods available to us that could gain us extra work in these difficult times.

Well spoken David there are people who use bonnet cleaning on all carpets.  Obviously they would avoid shag, semi shag pile, but so would most h/w/e users.

There are various types of bonnet for different types of carpet. Came across a new one recently which is getting excellent reviews, apparently giving great results on carpets which previously were a problem to bonneting. ( only available in US at the moment )

As I recollect, the best known franchise in the world use bonnets from choice.
