Ive got a cfr pro 500 lovely machine, although I tend to use my basic wand with it.Even though its only got 2 stage vacs its quite powerful.I see that the exhaust exit is behind the wheel. Is there a way of adding an extra booster vac, internally or externally.Steve.

I had the cfr pro 500, and on long runs/ bad access, i used a vac booster.
Added much needed power, set it usually 10' infront of machine.
Was from solutions.

Was it the one that can be used as a spotter too ???

No, just the booster for the vac Clinton.

I have just been having a look at the new alltec three vac set up :)
Might be running on three plugs mind you ???
There again think you could always cut the heater off when its hot enough :)

Andrew :)
Looks like a handy little tool and light in weight i guess like the scorpion :)

Have the older version Scorpion ( Recoil)
upgraded, but still with the 300psi pump, which is ample.
Now van mounted with Bane tanks and reels.
Use booster only occasionally on anything over 100'

Looks like shaun ashmore has a bane for sale on the other section ???
The recoils a good machine mate, like the pump power too as find the 100 or 135 aint enough to flush a dirty carpet :)
-
Never used the actual Bane machine, but heard a few good reports.
Recoil just sits alongside Bane freshwater tank, and just drop in pipes out of solution tank.
Thought about re-jigging it, cutting off the waste tank, and using the lighter waste (plastic)
from solutions. weight should be a lot less, and more room in van (hiace)
Use 2" hose and 14" quad jet, big and cumbersome, but just got some of the lighter hose, more flexible too in
tight areas.

Thought you had the bane machine too ???
The solutions i guess would be less weight then, kens set up is impresive with his waste and fresh tank van set up.
Your van is a good peice of kit and plenty of space inside it.

Are those wire wound vac hoses on the CFR in the picture? Is it a hide-a-hose?
Some years ago, I had wire wound hoses supplied with a new machine.. When the wand hit the carpet, the hose absorbed so much energy that it lost a minimum of 5 ft in length. I upgraded to a more modern smooth bore hose and the machine performed so much better. More energy was used to do the job intended ie lift water from the carpet and move it away.
It has also been well discussed that as hide-a-hose assemblies age, bits of fluff and fibre can becaome entangled internally between solution and vac hose, again restricting airflow and absorbing energy.
IMO, an upgrade from wire wound to smooth bore hose will give you a performance benefit, more so with older hoses. The solution hose can still be used as you can disassemble and remove from the old vac hose. Before you buy, why not borrow from a colleague? I've loaned a 50' length to a colleague to use on his Steampro, and he reckons that it outperforms his 25ft of wire wound :o
Maximum benefit is gained from an in-line vac when it is placed closer to the wand, not the machine.
Are the CFR two stage vacs a different spec to run of the mill two stagers? If used with a Wonderwand, these two vacs would probably be as good as three stagers. The only significant benefit of the three stagers would possibly be a little longer length, I think 130ft has been mentioned as opposed to about 100ft for the two's?
Safe and happy CFM's

Ken, the hoses were that type, with hide a hose, standard i think to cfr
No longer have the machine or hoses, only held on to the short whip for cfr hand tools
Now have 50' of h/master 2" and 50' of solutions more flexible 2" hose for in the house

For about 2 years i used wire bound hoses on my old Ninja, With a vac optimised machine
they are fantastic, due to the contraction you reach peak suck quicker, and the hose length is less
at full suck which helps.
However with an air optimised machine they will give no improvement.
The biggest drawback is the contraction, which is a pain in the asre, as it pulls at the wand and you
are constantly pulling against it. on stairs it trys to pull you down, and when dry inside they whistle
like a banshee. Smooth bore is better but i do miss the flexibilty of them.
