i've got one holding my tank down.
I've never had an accident so i don't know how good they are. But i am happy with it.
Oh and bacause the tank is strapped down (to 2 metal bars bolted through the floor) my insurers don't view it as a modification.

thanks mark, am considering buying this not sure yet though.
How big are the nuts and bolts? it says it comes with it but i carn't see how they know what size to send or does it just bolt through van floor not chassis.

Have you told them about the size of the tank the size professionally fitted but a garage?, and been totally up front ? I tried minimal details all would insure me for vans, asking the correct questions cut the options to a few (this says it all imo), fitting a tank to a van is a mod (how ever anyone wants to dress it up it is) it affects the handling of a van. I hope to god people that are incorrectly insured do not find this out the hard way, more so if you hurt someone else by not disclosing all the right info when asking for a quote. I personally asked all the right questions to cover me and my business, I was not to interested in he money side more the cover when I found the right deals I shopped around asking the same questions. I would say to anyone reading this you do the same. DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLES VIEWS ON THE LAW OF CARRYING YOUR LOAD ASK THE PEOPLE THAT INSURE YOU.
I am not knocking anyone who has posted by the way, I am saying what I think to be correct, I may be wrong as could others, check yourself and get covered correctly is what I am saying.

Yes i did call. I told them i carry 500kg of water in the back on a daily basis and how it was held down.
I am with quinn-direct and the fact that the tank is held down by ratchet straps instead of being in a frame means no change.

I dont ratchet stap any tanks in vans but would be interested to hear what they have to say, as one of my vans is up for renewal soon. I have an open mind ;)

Mark could u answer my question above please :P

I wouldnt have it any other way other than bolted down
whats more important
saving a few quid on your insurance because you strap your tank down
or have piece of mind if you have an accident ....
knowing that half a ton of water not snapping my neck on its way slowing down and paying a little extra insurance wins hands down every time

Sorry, i've just noticed this. They come with bolts and fixer plates. The size i can't remember.
I think they are bolted through the floor and not the chassis.
I'm not too sure because i had a garage fit mine for me.
