Title: Aluminium Cleaning
Post by: Paul Simpson on February 20, 2009, 02:17:52 pm
Just been to price up a job sub-contracted to me by a building company, carpets, general cleaning and aluminium that needs to be cleaned and polished up.
Its an office block that is being re-vamped and most of the aluminium is stair nosing with plastic inserts strips as well as stair posts.
I do have some "Amalite" (I think thats what its called) that I tried on it but not great results, albeit only rubbing with a towel.

Can anyone suggest a better product or technique? What kind of agitation could I use? As obviously scourers, etc will scratch wouldn't they?

Grateful for any advice.

Hi

Are they damaged or pitted at all?

I have used 'Bar keepers Friend' (£3.25) on sinks and hobs etc, comes up sweet.

Use with green scourer, wait 1 min, wipe off.

Regards

Martin

Thanks for the reply Martin.
Does the scourer not leave scratches?
The Amalite stuff I tried today might have worked better with a scourer.
