Title: Kirby Vacuum Cleaner

I have a customer who has owned a Kirby bought by her late husband for her about 5 years ago.

She has never used it in that 5 years because she found it too heavy but never told her husband so as not to upset him.

So, she has asked me do I want to buy it, I dont really need it,  but I know its condition is as new & could get it for a good price, question is I dont have a clue what to offer her, and do you all rate these machines.

Any ideas.

Hi Phil

kirby,  are very good vacuums and although they are deemed as being a domestic vacuum they do as good a job as anything else!!
I would say offer her £70 and you have yourself a bargain, you only have to see how much they fetch on ebay to see how they are held in such high regard. I used to have one when i first started and yes they are heavy, but they will last longer than any other vacuum in the market place today!!! 
You will double your money on ebay, no problem ;D

If madam doesn't accept your offer, show her how to vac the carpet slowly through the traffic lanes. This way, she'll have the weight working for her, as opposed to against her. If she cleaned the ground floor traffic lanes once a week in this way, the appearance and soiling rate of her carpets would be greatly enhanced. This has worked well with one or two of my customers.  If she still finds it too heavy, then she could sell or recycle within her family.

if she is finding it hard top push then it must be the Legend series, which makes its value about 150pounds.

If it is a G4, G5 or G6 then it will have a drive motor that propels it along the floor, if its one of these and in new condition then they fetch about 250pound-350pounds on Ebay.

they are well worth the money I have a 12 year old legend which although its hard to push still does a really good job of vaccing ther carpet.

the 'G' series is even better

Paid £250.00 for it

Fantastic machine I can t understand why more CC s don t use them

The reason it too heavy and clumbersome.
Pick up on them is good but a lot of messing around if you want to do stairs.

I find Sebo the best all round and I have tried out many different cleaners.
