All these window cleaners and no one can lend me any advice, shame on you!!! :'(

jeff is that a 4040 ro? at that pressure 50 gallons per day must be wrong, be sure your using the right booster pump, it should not run constantly but rather cycle on and off, to account for the fact that only so much water can come out of your tap.

thanx for reply. No its not 40/40 ro system just standard 4 stage r-o system with a built in pump.I have just got an inline tap and have turned down the inlet flow and the pressure is now 95 psi.The water coming out has a tds reading of 5.Is this o.k?

Sounds ok to me if coming out at 5! whats your input water tds? stright from the tap
-
5 is good, you wont need a DI, you can clear fine with water of that purity

Yes straight from my outside tap tds reading @260.
Thanx for help guys really appreciated. :)
Also I got a 12ltr di vessel which I used to purify tap water before i got my r/o system.I have a rain water butt which i also used when its full of rain water(cut down on water costs) with a submersible pump in, but the other day I put a load of water softner tablets in the butt to soften the water before it goes through my di vesssel(dont ask why seemed a good idea at the time). But now my tds reading has gone through the roof over 700!!!And my resin seems to be contaminated. Is there a way I can get my resin back to normal again or should I throw it and re fill it back up with new resin?

At 700 TDS your resin is totally spent.
You need to refill I am afraid.

I'm sure I read if you look after the membranes, flushing/ changing filters regulary, then you can get between 3 to 5 years out of them, mine are 2 1/2 years old and still going well ;D
-
thats good they reccomend changing every 6 months, mine 1 year old so far im gonna change when tds goes up
-
i have only ever changed the 10 inch filters.. in two years.. carbon etc etc... do i need to change filters in the membrane things above ?

Don't worry about it till your tds from the membranes shoot up
