Title: Typical rejection rates??
Post by: Redcaddy on February 16, 2009, 07:30:11 pm
Just noticed on the GAPS site, that the RO "Typical rejection is 98%"

I'm wondering if I should slow down the waste on my 4040RO, as it's certainly more than 2%!

My tds is about 175ppm in, and I have great water pressure, at over 10bar.

Rejection ratio of 98% means that under the right conditions the membrane will reject 98% of impurities - not water.

This means that with input TDS of 175ppm you would expect to get about an output TDS of 3-4 ppm.
