Title: 4040 RO Systems...where from!!
Post by: Ian_Giles on February 16, 2009, 06:13:54 pm
I'm getting totally fed up with the slow production rates of my so called 200 gallon a day system :-\ (Or is it 100 gallon a day ???)
I say so called because it has slowed up somewhat, I think I might need to replace the 2 membranes, I have noted how the TDS is starting to rise, has gone up from 0.001ppm to 0.008ppm, not a lot of change really I know, but I tend to change them when the TDS starts to rise.

But have now decided to go for a 4040 system.

So!

I need the 4040 (of course) and a resin container (rechargable not throw away)

Where to get the above from at the best prices?

Can't get on to the cleantech site, just keep getting an error page (with internet explorer AND firefox >:()
If the window cleaning warehouse do them - apart from replacement membranes - then I'm blowed if I can find the info on their site.  :-\

Ionics are well pricey (as a rule) As are Omnipole (not criticising either, just pointing out they are not the cheapest around)

So has anyone got any suggestions as to the best place to buy 4040 systems from?

Gapswater   << google it Ian.

Without any doubt in my mind the best place for 40 inch RO systems anywhere. June who runs it really knows her stuff and will never over or undersell.

Hope this helps.

Gapswater 40 inch systems for window cleaners Ian. http://www.gapswater.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Reverse_osmosis_kits.html

Re the DI.   DA services (Doug) who is a member here does very well priced DI vessels and top quality resin. A lot of members buy from him.

Ian,

Its slowed down because of the temperature,

It will speed up as it gets warmer,

Cant fault you for wanting to upgrade though,

Dean

Hi, try purefreedom they will mount the whole lot on a back plate and pipe it up, and cheaper than gaps.
Mart.

Some good replies, thanks all for doing so...I shall be checking out all of the options and links...

Thanks Dean, yeah, know about the temp thing, but it's more than that with my system at the Mo, I'm pretty sure it is the membranes simply losing efficiency (combined with the weather).

Plenty to look at now though!

Ian... honestly.

Just call June and tell her what you want to do. Tap TDS and water pressure on hand will help to give her the info she needs.

I gain nothing at all by reccommending her except the knowledge that you will get exactly what you need at a very good price.
She uses only top quality branded housings, filters and membranes.  Ask anyone who has ever dealt with her and you will only hear good reports.

June understands the window cleaning industry very well so you will get very well informed advice and superb back up.

Thanks again Andrew,
I'll be giving Gaps a ring tomorrow to see what they say.
Only want the 4040 membrane & housing and the resin vessel, plus fittings and so on that will allow me to connect up to my existing system if possible, and of course I already have the pre-filters.

Have considered upgrading in the past, but I always try to get what I NEED and not simply what I WANT! Which are often two very different things indeed ::)

Got to agree with Andrew.

I got recomended from Alan Wilson and June from Gaps is great helped me loads with my low pressure water etc and creeping tds because of the problems with water pressure and water flow. She really does help!

AAAWWW SHUCKS!!

cheers dave

June @ gapswater is very good - I've heard from a few window cleaners up our way that the new HF5 membrane is the business too.

cleantech sent me one, i didn't know what it was, but it's the best thing ever. They put it on a board for you with the prefilters.

I've seen the one i've got on another website for £3000(brodex).I won't post the price Mike charged on here but think very cheap and think very good.
