Which area are you in ?
-
sorry for being dim
cheapest and best don't normally live together do they
however best value lives everywhere depends on your purse size
-
Cheapest is not always best. You need to decide what it is you want to achieve.
1. Quality of service for your client
2. Cost effectiveness for your business
if you buy a cheap product how much product will you need to use to achieve the result you want (i.e. top branded washing up liquid vs for example "happy shopper". How much washing up can you do from a bottle the same size?.
same with floor or carpet cleaning products, how much product do you need?. if the dilution rate on product A is say 1:100 at a cost of £10 and the dilution rate on product B is 1:300 at a cost of £15 then you would use more product on product A than on product B, therefore product B is the better buy although not the cheaper.
cheapest is not always the best
hope this helps

Hi all, actually realise how daft that question sounded, obviously cheap is not going to be the best, so i will rephrase the question "does anyone know the best supplier for cleaning products" Im in the Manchester area.
Thanks in advance

With most items I find the best products (aka the products of my choice) and then find out where these can be purchased for the least amount of money. A no-brainer really.
The exception of course is where you rely on good advice and in the case of machinery a good level of back up service. We have a few local suppliers and many internet suppliers. All works well for us.
It's also a good idea to find out the best price on t'intenet and use this to get better rates locally.
One tip in the current economic climate is whoever you are buying from, if the value exceeds £100 then use a credit card. This gives you free insurance on your purchase. Be sure to pay off when you get the bill though otherwise the debts can begin to spiral!
What products specifically are you looking for?

Hi Ian thanks for reply, im just looking for general "housekeeping/washroom products" no machinery(ie) buffers etc, not just yet!!

If you know what products you want then google will throw up good results and allow you to get the best price. Always ask for price match if your chosen supplier is more expensive on some items as many will do this.
If you need advice then find a local supplier or chemical specialist. You can usually find a good one by telephoning and asking for a bit of advice. If they are helpful but not pushy then chances are they'll be the same when you visit.
I would suggest listing all of the cleaning tasks you are likely to carry out and then discussing / listing recommended products. Ask for free samples. Try to use the smallest number possible, many chemicals can be used on multple tasks and the last thing you want is to be carrying too much and getting in a muddle.
I am in the Midlands so no good making any recommendations on local suppliers. The local supplier that I use is also our local Prochem authorised dealer, merely a coincidence as this was not why I selected them. If other Prochem suppliers are this good however I would definitely give them a go. I have checked out the same in your area and have copied the link below: -
http://www.prochem.co.uk/distributors/Greater%20Manchester.pdf
Remember that local suppliers are usually more expensive but if you get a good one then it can be worth a little bit extra. That said you will often get a discount in store, but you have to ask.
Never rule out the likes of Wilko's or Home-Bargains. This doesn't portray the most professional of images but depending on where you are cleaning this may not be too important. We still use Stardrops Concentrate (as do the cleaners in our local hospital), VIM or Cif, Mr Sheen. These are also great places to buy Scrapers, Dusters, Dishcloths, Glade / Airwick Plug-ins, the list goes on. I would stay to proper suppliers for Scrims and Micrifibres (We favour Unger blue but SYR thick blue are half the cost and good quality / value). Again the message is 'SHOP AROUND'.
Good luck!

Hi all
I might have the answer for you all. I am in the process of setting up an e-commerce website for contract cleaners to buy their chemicals and supplies from. I have had my own cleaning business for a number of years and have fine tuned a core range of products which are very effective and dont cost the earth. I also have a range of eco friendly products which are a bit more money but some clients are willing to pay the difference. The website (when finished) will also have set up packs where you specify the amount of cleaners and we will do a bundle deal with everything you need for that contract start up for a very reasonable price. So if you guys want some info, email me at tim@mcsclean.co.uk. As I have already mentioned the website is not quite ready but it takes so bloomin long to upload descriptions and pictures!!

These seem very pricey on what I can see.
quick example: Numatic HVR200 (Henry) £113.38. These can be had from all over the net for as little as £80 inc VAT and delivery. Even Amazon is selling them for £88.89.
Not having a go but as the post is asking for best value this doesn't quite fit the bill.
I am not saying that this seller isn't a good seller, just far from the best on price.
-
Like Ian has said, most online companies are charging big bucks for everything, typical price from me for a henry will be at the very most £80 with James's even cheaper. Typical cost for 12 x cans of polish (400ml cans) will be under a quid a can. The plan is to offer quality products at affordable prices. The reason I can get cheaper prices is because I aint greedy!! ;D. I will take a note of anyones email addresses if they want me to, and I will let you know when we go live.
Cheers
