Title: Making a website - what do I need?
Post by: charlady on February 12, 2009, 10:25:44 pm
Hi all,
I entered a competition on a local radio station, and have won £500 with a company who design websites ;D
Thing is I don't know where to start, what I should ask for/expect from them :-\
I've just started up my own cleaning business, domestic at the moment, but if things take off i'd like to get into end of let cleans and maybe even contract.
Any advice

Just tell them what you do and the area you cover and they'll tell you what they can do for you but you really need to learn so you can alter the little things, say you want to put your prices up !

Hi BDCS,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Should I include the contract cleaning etc on the wesite from the start, and bluff it if I get interest or can I make that change myself at a later date.
I worked for a company a few years ago that did contract office cleaning so I know whats involved in the cleaning side, but I don't know the first thing about pricing, risk assessments etc.

Hi Yes I would put contract cleaning, regular domestic cleaning & end of tenancy cleaning if thats what you intend to do. It'll save you getting it added on later and being charged for it. You usually have a page for each different kind of cleaning eg. 1 page for regular domestic cleaning with a description of where you are prepared to travel, what you do, minimum hours etc. It's very important to have good search engine optimisation - speak to them about this.
