HI
Got a call to do a survey today just to have a stain removed she had a go with vanish and has left an awfull lot of residue in the carpet keeps bubblin up with water by the time i left i am now cleaning the whole house .
As far as the residue of the vanish is concerned i was goin to throughly rinse with just water and then clean house as normal good plan or any other suggestions

I cleaned a carpet with Vanish in it and although I'd put de-foam in the waste tank, it foamed up real bad. My motors were running but I'd completely lost suction ??? ??? ???. I switched the machine off, sorted the foam out and the machine worked perfectly after that... Weird :o :o :o

A good tip is rinse it with cold water too :)

treat with an acid rinse first is another one i have heard

Spray defoamer directly onto the vanish and brush in or you will never get rid of it and it will re-soil very quickly ,then rinse thougherly.

prochem Fibre and fabric rinse in the solution tank will neutralize the foam and suds.Steve

As Mark says, spray defoamer directly onto it and rinse. You'll have to repeat it a few times but this is the only thing that has truly worked for me. Use cold water too.
