i just bought a 1999 renault kangoo for 2k, its a 1.4 rxe. i actually got a refund from my insurance company for switching to it. its a little harder getting ladders on and off but i manage ok. i do use deep tripple teirs, so i am going to switch to doubles to make it easier. :)

Vauxhall combo can get 1.3 diesels, or 1.4 1.6 petrol/lpg 1.7 diesel
Citreon berlingo are good
Peugot partner
All good small vans for a smalll wfp

i have Citreon berlingo mulitspace
the rear seats fold into themselves and you then get a big enough space to fit a 400 L tank ( if your going down the WFP route )
or more then enough space for all your trad kit
they seem to be cheaper than the normal berlingo vans ( they are normally used as cars by people with wheelchairs, thus even the older vans are normally in good nick ), they come with the side doors ( which are very handy )

Are starting trad or wfp?
Why do you need a van straight off?
Many people start up & operate for many years from their cars. It means you don't need two vehicles (one for work & one for leisure), you won't need to change your vehicle & insurance, which could cost you money, & will allow you time to work out exactly what your requirements are as your business grows.
Don't dive in the deep end unless you have to.

I would just prefer to use a van as my car is a tiny little thing i would be hard working from its just selling the thing lol
Oh and i would only run the van dont mind using it for leisure

if you need it for work and leisure then the berligo multispace is great

it all depends ken
some cars just seem to be trouble from day one but another of the same make are no trouble at all
weve been running a pug for three years with only the brakes and a battery replaced...................brilliant bit of kit
i had four renaults on the trot 3 trafics and then a master , the master was a nightmare and we got shot but my mate bought a master before i bought my first trafic and he still has it ......................he swears by them
so its the luck of the draw im afraid

I concur with what people are saying about a car doing you fine, i actually started using a polo about the same size as your cleo. Not by choice, its just all I had, them bought a salloon which did me a turn but alway wanted a small van as I think it looks more proffesional, and when my salloons repair bills started rising i decided to go with the kangoo i mentioned. it has rear seat that fold down then forward and up, giving you a panel van, or if you have more passengers fold them up. if you can get 1600 for your cleo, you will have no prob getting a good small van for an extra couple of hundred on top of that. :)

i have Citreon berlingo mulitspace
Hi Mat
Do you have any pics of your car set up ??
Marcus...

Other thing to note when buying vans (including second-hand) is that private sales are no V.A.T. but trade sales do attract V.A.T. if VAT registered.
