Anyone tried it for removing atains from white upvc?

yes and no

ive not tried it, but i have see the results from a mixture of it and cif powder

if you have stains on PVCu then just use a bit of cif powder on it, it will just take the top layer of PVCu off , a word of warning though, dont do it too often as it will strip the coating and will turn yellow

What made me ask was, i was in Aldi looking for their cheap limescale remover and spotted some weird powder stuff called Bar keepers Friend which is some form of stain remover in a powder form. Smelt like bicarb to me (didn't buy it).

it might have had a mild abrasive in it aswell

barkeepers freind is used for cleaning brass etc, its used by antique dealers as it cleans tarnish off very quickly

i dont know what it would do to upvc
