I need some help please guys ??? :-\
Been asked to price up a builder’s clean for windows and frames, to be cleaned in/out.
Please take a look at the pics and guide me towards a price and time scale please??
Never done a builders clean always turned them straight down!
Also any tips and what to use to remove stuff would also be appreciated

They also want all the inside of frames cleaned??
Again, which is the best way for this?

your on your own think of a number double it and just hope to be paid

oh mate this is almost the same as one i did a few years ago and believe me its more trouble than its worth. if i were you i would say thanks but no thanks if you go for it then £300.00 the one i did was the same size and condition as that and took me over 7 hours and was a nightmare. i just say no to builders cleans now.

Ditto. Builders want it done for nothing, and they've usually covered the glass and frames with cement/paint/putty and put lots of scratches on glass and plastic.
If you touch it, they'll swear any damage is down to you.
They'll expect you to make it look like new, even if it's damaged beyond repair, and refuse to pay if it doesn't
You'll graft your nuts off and then have to do it all again and finish up hating the job and wishing you'd never started,
SO DON'T ;D ;D ;D

Whilst it's true what others have said, this does mean you can charge a premium for this service.
First thing you have to find out is internally are there ant coatings on the glass, this could be film or some other type of coating, you need to find out exactly, contact the manufacturer if you cant get written confirmation form the site manager, if the information is there, follow it exactly!
Last thing you want to do is bugger up the glass ;D
How bad is it, look closely at each and every pane, is plaster paint splattered all over the place?
Price between £3.00 and £10 per pane, depending on answere to above!

Same as Ian....steer clear :)
But...... if you decide to go ahead, have they let you know when they want it done as in a defo date, only reason I say is that if you quote now and they don't want it done for a month, you have another month's build up on top of now, so allow an extra percentage on your price. Also put that in your quote, "should there be a delay on the requiremnt date as given, a re-quote will be necessary. Also damage/scratch waiver to be signed by them to exonorate you from blame. Ladder usage will be required, so bear that in mind. Difficult to tell from piccies, but gut feeling for a "well done" job you are looking at maybe 16 man hours, believe me after 5 hours at this one you will be sick and tired of it and slow down!!! ;)

Floor to ceiling windows I would the glass out alot quicker, make sure you get a waiver signed before you start. Can be a total nightmare and from a pic I would not quote a price personally. I have a glass and frame waiver if you need one.

I have done loads of builders cleans but have now stopped they are to much hassle.
Anyway i would allow two days for that.
But put a bit more on the price as they often take longer than you think.
The window casings are easy brush them out with a small hand brush then wipe over with damp scrim.
You will need a good scraper with plenty of new blades also to get the cement, paint, plaster etc off the windows.
The tape should just pull off you may need to run a blade around the edge if they have been plastered over or painted over.
Ask how long for payment also as builders are the worst payers.
I have had to wait nearly six months before for payment from one job.
Good luck you will need it if you do that job.

I agree steer well clear , i was tempted to put quote really high but it is true that you could be held to ransome for already scratched glass and possibly not be paid regardless of your quote .. JUST SAY NO

We do any amount of these, on a job like this I'd charge £4 per pane regardless of size and you should work out about right. You'll get some good ones and some bad ones, however if you use the right products to remove the stickers you'll have something like this done in a couple of hours, 2 people and to be honest these ones look quite good.

And I found out that the other quote they got in was £175, far to cheap for me to give up a weekend for builders!!
But
they are going to give their clients my details for the regular window cleaning jobs. (i hope)

I would take it on an hourly rate and get em to sign a waiver. Hard to say how long you need from a pic but if you think it's about 6 man hours then add one and a half hours on, if they don't want it, I always look at it as "Some will, some won't, so what?"

if your worried about payment, why dont you ask 90% upfront, and say you have been ripped off in the past?? ive never done any and wouldnt just look at the ammount of builders going bust
