I'm sick of seeing the extracta photos of some bloke cleaning with jeans and a football top on.

Change the pics.

doug if this is your pic and you want me to remove it just let me know, i thought it was an extracta pic, same to anyone else whose pic i've sto...... sorry borrowed.
yes cleaning co I built it using dreamweaver and photoshop, both excellent pieces of software. Ive been going to night school to learn it, not that i want to be a web designer, just to build and maintain my own site as if you get someone to build it youve got to get them to make any ammendments. If anyone is thinking of building a site my advice would be to just register blank pages with tags on in the meantime as it takes a bit of time for search engines to pick you up, wish i knew that myself before.
I found this site www.neurocyber.co.uk which has got some good advice on SEO on it
If anybody needs a bit help let me know, not that I know a lot but I will try

John these pics are some of the most used pics about, how many flyers have you seen with these pics on them. Also its free advertising for extracta and seeing as I use extracta equipment I dont think they would mind, but like I say if anybody wants me to remove them just say.
Apart from that john what do you think of the site

I may have put my foot in it with some one! This was not my intention!

It may not be copyrighted as such, but I bet its intellectual property owed by some one? All I was trying to advise use originals now it seems get permission from the manufacture to use! I take it that you use their machines.

By the way I nick a lot of quotes/phrases from sites can’t be done on this

Don’t blame you going to night school or is it now called Night University to learn the programs.

not a problem len
yeah the programs are like anything else, once someone has shown you how to use them your away, and its so easy to change your site once its up it literally takes minutes, the software is quite expensive but there are places you can get it for free, not that i could possibly comment on that ;)

Hi Guys,

When I first set up my website I rang Brian at Extracta and asked if I could use his pics.

He seemed quite suprised that I even wanted too but was happy to give permission.I have used Extracta machines for a long time.

It's probably time to change the layout.

Cheers,

Doug

hi there,

CARPET AND UPHOLSTERY  CLEANING

the tops of that wording seem  to be cut off a little, you may want to alter that positioning slightly.

and you may want to add a few more phrases or words to your keywords in the sourcing, so that search engines pick it up more easily..

but yes, it works, it tells the prospective cleint what you do, and how to get in touch.

doesnt take a huge amount of time to load, but i am on broad band.

so well done. it all helps

regards

martin

hi goron,  I have never used front page but I think its similar to dreamweaver the one that i use. If youve never been shown how to use it, it can be confusing, well it was for me. A good thing to do is go on to google and type in search bar " front page tutorials" and it will give you links to pages with tasks to do with the software step by step.  once your site is built it only takes minutes to get it online, of course you will need server space but this can cost less than £20 a year.

If Frontpage is similar to Dreamweaver I can recommend the Dreamweaver tutorials here.

I used his pdf's to build a firewall and home network.

Hi Shaun

The only comment I would add is that it looks like you have stretched the pics a bit too much and they are distorted slightly, or they are on my screen!!

Chris

Certainly the family picture on the domestic page is very badly stretched widthways. It reminds me of when I was trying to put my flyer together and I found this great picture (on a US housebuilders website - no, I didn't ask permission either :o) of a mother and baby on a lovely looking carpet. I thought yes, that's the one, but when I immported it to my desktop publishing software, it was tiny. By the time I'd stretched it to a decent size accross the width, the baby ended up resembling one of those guys on the Jerry Springer Show that like dressing up in "diapers".
